This wasn’t a scheduled mission, it was a race against time. ⏰

In June, we returned to El Salvador to help Keyla, a young girl with a complex heart condition. We needed to perform a diagnostic cath to map her heart and figure out if surgery was even an option. After reviewing the imaging, the team placed a stent to improve her circulation. 🇸🇻🫀

She’s not out of the woods, but we’ve bought her more time, and we’re still searching for long-term solutions. And because our team doesn’t turn away from opportunity, they also mended the hearts of four other children who were waiting for urgent care. Sometimes the biggest impact comes from the smallest windows of opportunity. ✨🩺🥼

Elise, a.k.a. Little Miss Firecracker, recently turned 8 on the Fourth of July—and then bravely hopped on a plane to come back to us. ✈️ Traveling solo as an unaccompanied minor all the way from Yaoundé, Cameroon 🇨🇲 (thank you, Air France! 💙), she returned into the loving arms of her medical host family 👨‍👩‍👧 to have her rods adjusted and help lengthen her spine. 💪

A few years ago, Elise underwent major surgery to treat the severe scoliosis she had been suffering from—thank you, Shriners! 🏥✨ This spirited young lady stands taller and wiser with every visit. 💖

From life-saving surgery to a university degree, this is why we do what we do. 💜

Birrhanu came to us at just 5 years old, in need of critical surgery. This week, he graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a degree in business, alongside his sister, Meaza. 🎓🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

They are a living reminder that restoring one child’s future can uplift an entire family. 🦋

We’ve been around long enough to see the seeds of hope we planted begin to bloom. And Birrhanu, our 2025 Gala Hope Awardee, is proof of how far your support can go.

Another mission in the books! ☀️💛 This week, with our incredible partners at the Philippine Heart Center, we traveled to Naga City to give 15 kids the life-saving heart surgeries they’ve been waiting for.
