I got up at 5:20 a.m. to go for a walk/run through town this morning with Tanner. π
Tanner is finishing up his junior year at Coastal Christian High School next month.
Tanner is our fiercely independent, private , scholarly π, soccer-playing β½οΈ , always-surfing πββοΈ, son. He is our middle skittle and he is cool.
If you know me, you know I donβt βdoβ 5:20 unless I am catching and early flight to somewhere wonderful βοΈ π- and even then, I wish I had booked the 10:00 am instead and spent the extra money π΄.
If you have a teenaged boy (or two) you know that you will βdoβ 5:20 if one casually mentions his morning plan and says βdo you wanna come?β-
you will at your husband, a little shocked and a tad confused, but you will say βyesβ (for sure) and you will set your alarm for what feels like the middle of night for your particular algorithm. β° π΄
You will hate getting up and then
you will enjoy every second of the time on the path in the dark, before the chickens even wake up in your tiny town. π
You will do 5:20 and enjoy 5:20 because it wonβt be long before he wonβt ask you to tag along (and slow him down considerably!) at 5:20.
You might even come back and scramble eggs and toast some bread for him, while he is in the shower getting ready for school. π³
It will be a very good morning.
Youβll do 5:20 a.m because like me, with a teenaged boy (or two) who grew really fast and went from man cubs to grown when you blinked, you just know. βοΈπ±
Youβll do 5:20 just because you will.
Youβll do 5:20 because IYKYK. π¦ π§βπ
Happy Friday. Make it count. π
