SD Proficiency Testing, LLC was formed in 2014 to meet the needs of calibration laboratories accredited to ISO/IEC-17025 and also those not formally accredited. We received ISO-17043 accreditation by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), Certificate # 3975.01 in proficiency testing schemes for flow of gases in December 2015. These schemes and accreditation also meet the international requirements of ILAC P9.
SD Proficiency Testing stands ready to provide proficiency testing schemes for the flow of gases up to 1,000 slpm. Calibration labs now have a convenient and very economical opportunity to complete their required proficiency testing by participating in one of these schemes.
The PT schemes in use at SD Proficiency Testing are quantitative, meaning the results of quantitative measurements, are numeric, and are reported on a ratio scale.
The PT artifact is circulated successively from one participant to the next. At predetermined intervals, the artifact is returned to SDPT in order to calibrate the reference numbers. When the artifact is shipped directly from one participant to the next, a “blind” shipping label is provided by SDPT so as to maintain participant confidentiality and scheme integrity.
SDPT provides detailed instructions for operation of its artifacts including: handling, environmental requirements, setup and operation. Additionally, we are available to consult, provide guidance and generally offer any assistance to participants to ensure successful and meaningful results of the test.
SDPT provides two methods of evaluation:
1. Upon completion of testing by the participant, percent full sale difference and En numbers are calculated using the reference numbers, the participant’s measurements and both respective uncertainty values. Results are immediately provided to the participant in a preliminary test report.
2. Once all participants have completed the current round of testing, the test results are combined in an easy to interpret spreadsheet containing the % difference between the reference and the participants’ results, the En numbers, and graphed so as to illustrate how each participant compared to the other participants in the round.
As needs arise, there are plans to add flow of liquids and also duct/stack flow to our scope of accreditation. Our company is located in Burgaw, North Carolina.
