Approximately 10 to 15 years ago, Clay developed tinnitus. For some time it troubled him, not only because of the disruption it caused but also because he struggled to come to terms with "the fact that it was incurable and would never go away."

Since he got his hearing aids, Clay said, "Oddly to me, the main benefit I perceive has been the ability to hear voices much more clearly during iPhone calls. Instead of straining to hear by pressing the phone to my ear and trying to find a quiet corner and otherwise trying to block out competing noise nearby, the voices feel like they are literally in my head." 🦻💚

Rick knew there was a problem with his hearing when he was having to ask his family 'what?' when they spoke to him.

He began to worry about his communication and relationships with them, saying, “I needed to hear what they said the first time, good or bad I needed to hear it. I didn’t want them thinking my ‘what’ was a sign of disapproval and they needed to say something different."

He was only 45 years old but accepted that he needed help and wanted to find out what to do next. After attending his appointment with us, he recieved hearing aids and says, "They have made all of the difference in the world. I am not withdrawn at parties. I can hear the conversations and interact with others much easier.”
