May everyone’s holiday season be a safe one! Sending many blessings your for health, happiness & LOVE. 🌟

12/07/2020

**Effective Dec 7, 2020 - LR Massage Therapy has closed again due to Covid**

It has become clear as Covid-19 continues to spread within our communities at a high rate that this retraction is needed. This decision was difficult for me to make. As hard as this choice is, I'd rather everyone remain healthy & well!

This has been a difficult year for us all. I wish only to remain rooted in my heart space, knowing I've done all that I personally can to keep others safe & health.

The very best gift we could possibly share this season is taking care of ourselves and each other by keeping up with all the protocols:
social distancing recommendations, mask wearing & washing hands.

May your December & holiday season be filled with love, laughter, joy and good health. Many blessings sent from my family to yours.

Thank you for your service! 🇺🇸

Hello LR Massage Therapy community! 👋☺️

I'm returning back to work the last week of the month (Sept. 29th).
My return back will offer limited availability/openings, testing the waters, so to speak, to see how it goes.
I'll be working Tues - Fri only, from 9-1p. This initial limited schedule is to see how things work out.
If you are interested in scheduling something, please touch base.

COVID-19 update / reopening info

Please know that I am working on plans to reopen. There's a lot of new items to consider when thinking about what a 'safe massage' looks like when physical distancing is not possible in this line of work. I want to assure you that your health & safety takes top priority (mine too!).

As NoVa moves forward, and into Phase 1, I will be watching what reopening in this region does to numbers & further spread of COVID-19. Especially with case levels still rising daily. There are health conditions that can be quite serious that need to better understood too i.e. blood clots. I continue to review & research all of the information coming out.

**I am aiming to reopen my office the latter part June**

Note that this could change at any point if cases worsen, or the state reverses it’s guidance on non essential businesses. I hope you all can understand that I only wish to be part of the solution for a safer path forward, and Do No Harm in the process!!

Until then, thank you all for your understanding!

Some insight into where I'm headed with my personal office space reopening. I don't know this wise fellow therapist, but believe I'm making the wisest choice to NOT RETURN just because the state deems it so. My business, my practice, my choice.
I'm REALLY trying to consider all sides here, my own health (a person living with asthma), you, my clientele's health, my entire office settings health, and the communities we live in. I'm choosing to put your health as a priority, and scientific facts over eagerness to just jump back into work. There will certainly be people who believe this will be overkill, unnecessary, who think I'm overreacting, or that this a hoax (what?!?!).... all to say that's fine with me. You do you, and I'll do me. Not one single dollar earned will ever be worth the spread or to get the dreaded phone call that a client has come down with Covid-19, and are calling to inform me. I can't be certain I didn't transmit it, or that they got it somewhere else, or that I won't now also become sick ..... either way, I'm stay home for a while longer folks.
Until we meet again, I wish ALL continued good health, be kinder to each other during these uncertain times. We all need a bit more of understanding, love, kindness & appreciation ❤

Found this on another FB massage page. I know it’s long, but I hope you’ll read it, knowing it’s so true for me! 🙏♥️

Me heart is hurting right now. I am empathizing with the world. For the past week its palpable, its heavy in the air. I feel it all day long and I feel it as soon as I wake up. I see it on peoples faces.
I am not able to do my work right now, for obvious reasons. A lot of my identity is wrapped up in being a therapist. It's something that happened naturally after doing this work for 20+ years. As I look at my empty massage table and the neatly folded sheets, I feel it. I feel that part of me deep inside being sheltered away. I've cried about that feeling and even felt angry. It's a strange foreign grieving process I think we as a species, as a whole are feeling right now.
The world is hurting right now, and I and so many other therapist are not allowed to do what we do best, help, heal, and take some of the burden off your literal shoulders now.
I miss my clients faces the ones that come weekly, the ones that come monthly, the ones that I've just met, all of you. I'm wondering when I will see you again. I'm thinking about you and what you are feeling, what the stress of all this is doing to your body. I know because, I'm feeling it too. I relieve a lot of my stress by helping you. Sounds strange, yes? But it's part of why I love this job! Love it like a child I've watched grow for years and years.
This job is difficult but this job is also rewarding. When you come out of the room looking like a different person. The softness in your relaxed face, your shoulders back down where they are suppose to be, the sighs I hear when the stress and tension is released from your body and mind. The hugs I get from your grateful arms and the smiles and laughs. I want you to live your best life, feeling your best, functioning at your best. That's my job, that's my lifes work.
When this is all done and over (hopefully sooner than later), I hope and I pray that touch isn't taboo. That being close to someone in a small room isn't something that is feared. Because, we as humans need touch its part of our DNA.
Don’t forget about us, your therapist. I need you as much as you need me. When we all come out of our shelters, when the fog is lifted, when the fear has dissipated, I hope to be part of the healing process for the world because the world will need it. It needs it now. ❤

In an effort to keep the lines of communication open, I'm offering the following update:
Adhering to the 15-day Pause, and based on the most recent recommendations from the CDC, the State of Virginia, and wanting to help "slow the spread", I am canceling appointments through Sunday, 4/5/20. I will provide another update in early April, so check back here after April 1st. Also, for the time being, I have suspended online appointment bookings to help me keep a better handle on my schedule.

** Attention LR Massage Massage Community: (3/15/20 update)**
Out of an abundance of caution for the greater community, and given what we know today, I have decided to cancel appointments for the week of 3/16-3/22. My intention is to look at things week-to-week, and see how we progress moving forward. Also, to see if further restrictions might be placed upon us.
If social distancing can make a difference, it's my responsibility as an individual, and someone who strives to operate a ethical business to do so. Please know that I am just as eager to get back to our regularly scheduled programming. I will be providing weekly updates on my website.

Stay healthy & be well!

Massage therapists can easily tell what massage establishments are legitimate and where someone would go to get a happy ending. For some reason, the public doesn’t quite get it. We invest time and money going to school, becoming licensed, and in some areas getting fingerprinted and a background ch...
