Dena Cole-Stanley, born February 7, 1976 in Oklahoma City, OK (now resides in Fort Worth, Texas). She has been a Commercial Truck Driver since 2019. Previously 10 years experience in the medical field and auto insurance underwriting.
She holds many titles to include; Spiritual daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. The title that melts her heart more than anything else is; she’s a survivor of childhood molestation, abandonment by both paternal parents, generational and cultural beliefs. Who she has become is because she made a choice to change her life for her legacy. She knew she had to change her mindset.
She has enjoyed reading since school-age. Due to the environment that she comes from, she was always told “that’s white people ish”…. She struggled in school due to a toxic and unstable home environment. Then became pregnant at fifteen and a teen mother at sixteen. She was just a baby having a baby. She was determined not to be a product of her environment. In many aspects of her life it was a struggle to complete simple life skill tasks, such as graduating high school, especially with a child.
She was an adult when she obtained her GED to enroll in college classes. That was the moment that she realized that she could do and accomplish anything she set her mind to. Since discovering that moment she has completed several certificates, certifications, an associates degree in medical billing/coding and a nursing degree.
She started searching for healing at the age of 42, while tired of hurting, feeling unloved, unwanted, lost, confused, clouded mind. Feeling like she had no purpose here on earth. This is when she dedicated her life to Christ and seeked professional counseling. When she started to search for answers and question God is when her life changed. Her hurt, pain, trials and tribulations became her passion and purpose.
She has chosen to release her childhood trauma by speaking out, speaking her truth. In this season of her life. She is determined to take back everything that was stolen from her childhood by generational beliefs, traditions and so much more. This is how Healing on Purpose came about. She now has written an ebook: 7-Step Guide to Healing from Childhood Trauma through building a relationship with Christ.
This is just the beginning of her healing journey and walk with Christ. She now aspires to write books and lots of books, to be a motivational speaker, a mentor and so many more things.
