Peninsula Health Care District

Peninsula Health Care District The vision of PHCD is that all District residents enjoy optimal health through education, prevention, and access to needed health care services.

Since the Peninsula Health Care District was established in 1947, the communities we serve have changed and evolved, as have the health care needs of District residents. One thing that has remained constant is the District’s unwavering commitment to the people living in San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame, Hillsborough, San Mateo and Foster City. The District is accountable to residents, taxpayers and community partners to ensure the health of our communities, today and into the future.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at San Mateo High School for life-saving heart screenings! 🙌

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of death on school campuses, and over 70% of youth who experience SCA never knew they had a heart condition. By attending, you helped raise awareness and took a vital step in protecting young hearts. ❤️

Special thanks to the Kyle J. Taylor Foundation, San Mateo Union High School District, and all our amazing volunteers! 🧡💙

❤️ Happy Valentine's Day! Did you know February is American Heart Month? ❤️

Small steps can make a big difference when it comes to heart health. This month is the perfect time to check in on your heart and make simple, sustainable changes that support long-term wellness.

Here are a few heart-healthy habits to start today:
✔️ Get at least 30 minutes of physical activity most days of the week
✔️ Choose foods rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins
✔️ Monitor your blood pressure and cholesterol
✔️ Manage stress and prioritize quality sleep
✔️ If you smoke, seek support to quit

Prevention starts with awareness and awareness starts with you! If you haven’t had a recent health screening, now is a great time to schedule one.
