FDA加強監管外國食品供應商 亞裔進口商為公眾安全把好關

(本報訊) 隨著世界各地逐漸放寛疫情的監控，美國食品及藥物管理局 (FDA)最近也開始加強對外國食品及藥物供應商的抽查檢核。東方食品商會和美國中藥聯商會的會員中有不少進口商，日前特別就此舉辦一場講座，邀請業界專家講解如何為進口食品安全把好關，保障消費者權益。
為了進一步確保食品安全，美國FDA在2017年開始實施外國供應商驗證計劃 (Foreign Supplier Verification Programs，簡稱FSVP)，要求美國進口商為進口食品負責，從外國食品供應商的規範，食物原料和生產過程，均需達到美國FDA的要求。
應邀出席講座的前FDA官員，現為獨立食品及藥品專業顧問的高偉信博士指出，FSVP要求進口商必須制定計劃，驗證海外供應商所生產的食品，確保符合FDA的食品安全標準，沒有摻雜或弄假。食品標籤也必須清楚列出成份，以及成份中含有的化學物質，以至過敏源等資料。
FDA法規要求所有海外食品供應商，如要進口美國必須向FDA登記。FDA可以隨時派員到海外的工廠作實地監察查核。另一方面，FDA也會到美國的進口商檢查，包括抽取樣品化驗，追溯食品來源，以及了解食品生產過程的紀錄等。
應邀出席講座還有FDA認可化驗所Anresco的代表朱靈珊，以及中小型進口商Maria梁女士。
美國中藥聯商會主席劉源凱指示，這是東方食品商會和中藥聯商會攜手主辦的一場活動，務求提高中小型進口商對法規的認知，就食品安全為公眾把好關。
東方食品商會主席卓肇君表示，該會會員以進口商為主。這兩年的新冠疫情，以及中美關係的緊張，已對進口商造成極大壓力。FDA的食品法規要求不斷改變，也增加了中小進口商的工作量。商會希望透過這類講座加強進口商對法規的認知，避免觸犯法規，造成損失，甚至危險消費者健康。

Assemblymember Matt Haney distributes 500 food bags to low income families in Visitacion Valley for holidays

(SAN FRANCISCO) Newly-elected State Assemblymember Matt Haney returned to Visitacion Valley last Saturday, November 5, to distribute 500 food bags that he raised for the low income families and seniors in the neighborhood.

"There is always a great need in this neighborhood. The elderly and low income families are facing food insecurity. I will fight for them to bring in resources," said Haney at the giveaway event where 500 people were waiting in line in the Visitacion Valley Community Center playground at 66 Raymond Avenue.

The giveaway event took place last weekend before the November 8 election. The funding for the food drive was a combination of his campaign fund that he raised by running for Assembly to provide the bags and the food donated by the Oriental Food Association (OFA). 500 food takers could find noodles, soy sauces and more Asian food inside the food bags.

Haney acknowledged the generosity of Oriental Food Association to donate food to the Visitacion Valley community and the support to the giveaway event.

"I met with the association's leaders at the Chinese Newcomers Service Center annual food drive in Chinatown earlier this year. The association has donated food to the Chinatown event for decades. I reached out to them and thank you for their support to the Visitacion Valley community as well," Haney said.

It was the first time for the Oriental Food Association to participate in the food drive in the Visitacion valley neighborhood. "OFA is a long-time supporter of the Chinese Newcomers Food Drive event in SF Chinatown. With the impact of COVID and the recent economic downturn, OFA hopes to do more to help out the community. Our members (food importers and wholesalers) are very supportive of it," said Eva Yen, President of OFA and Asian Market General Manager of the Prince of Peace Enterprises, Inc.

The event was also in partnership with the Asian Pacific American Community Center (APACC) in Visitacion Valley. "The food giveaway comes at the right time for the upcoming holidays. We are thankful for Assemblymember Haney's support to our community. We have a large number of seniors and low income families in need in this neighborhood. We look forward to more collaboration with Assemblymember Haney," said Rex Tabora, Executive Director of APACC.

BBQ可樂豬肋排
材料：
萬字®醬油1/3杯
12盎司可樂1罐
番茄醬1杯
黑糖蜜3湯匙
克里奧爾(creole)調味料1-1/2茶匙
豬肋排1條

做法：
1. 將所有調味醬料混合在一個大碗中，攪拌均勻。預留1 杯醬汁備用。
2. 把剩下的醬汁倒在排骨上，醃製至少2小時或過夜。
3. 可以選擇用烤肉爐或烤箱烹調，在最後 15 分鐘時刷上預留的醬汁，讓豬肋排更加入味。

培根蘆筍卷
材料：
蘆筍十根
培根七片
萬字®柑橘醬油適量
黑胡椒適量

做法：
1. 將蘆筍用刀切成比培根寬帶略長的長度。
2. 煮一鍋水燒開，加入食鹽，將蘆筍加入水中焯水，焯水後撈出加入冰水中備用。
3. 將培根切成1/3的長度。
4. 取培根片包入兩根蘆筍，捲起後用牙籤固定。
5. 鍋中加入少量食用油，將蘆筍卷加入平底鍋上煎至培根微微焦黃，撒上黑胡椒碎。
6. 將培根卷盛入盤中，淋上萬字柑橘醬油即可食用。
