💜 Sad to be losing my amazing medical assistant yet SO HAPPY that she be start medical school in the fall. Lily Bae is super smart and will be a phenomenal physician as she truly cares for her patients. I’m excited to see what’s in store for her and maybe we will welcome her back to Peninsula Dermatology after she’s completed 4 years of medical school + 4 years of residency + fellowship.

Lily, you know how much I’ll miss you since you can read my mind. Xoxo

🧴Things that excite a dermatologist: Europe sells sunscreen with a phenomenal UVA blocker-*UVMUNE 400- that is not approved in USA. Every time I go to Europe, I load up on LRP sunscreens and always buy a local hat.

❤️🤍💙 Blue light treatment or photodynamic therapy is an effective way to treat larger areas of chronic sun damage. While liquid nitrogen is helpful for focal spots of sun damage, sometimes we want a treatment that encompasses a large area of sun damage. This is called field treatment. We use blue light treatment and creams to do this. Blue light treatment is done in the office. We clean off your skin and then apply a topical medicine. After an incubation period, we shine a blue light on the treatment area. You are more sensitive to sunlight for 48 hours so stay indoors. Make sure to bring your hat!
