When it comes to your child’s smile, there’s no such thing as a silly question. Here are a few things parents often wonder about.

❓Is my child too young for a braces consultation?
🦷 The AAO recommends that children get their first orthodontic screening no later than age 7.

❓If I had braces, will my child need braces too?
🦷Genetics does play a role, but every smile develops differently.

❓Once my child is done with treatment, is that it?
🦷 No, that will not be it. Once your child is done with treatment, we will give them retainers to wear and will continue to monitor their growth until they are done changing out their baby teeth.

🦷 Signs Your Child’s Bite May Need an Orthodontic Check 👧🧒

A healthy smile isn’t just about straight teeth — it’s about how the teeth fit together. Watch for these bite-related signs:

🟡 Upper teeth sticking out too far
🟡 Lower teeth in front of upper teeth
🟡 Open bite (front teeth don’t touch)
🟡 Crossbite (top teeth bite inside bottom teeth)
🟡 Deep bite (upper teeth cover most of the lower teeth)
🟡 Difficulty biting or chewing
🟡 Teeth that don’t meet evenly

👶 The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first evaluation by age 7 — early bite issues are often easier to guide while kids are still growing.
