Stop neglecting your ankles! Strong, stable ankles are the foundation for lifting heavier, running faster, and preventing rolls and sprains. One of the most effective tools for this? The BOSU ball.

This BOSU ball exercise forces your ankles, and the small stabilizer muscles around them, to work overtime. This builds serious strength and improves proprioception aka your body’s sense of where it is in space.

Why it works 👇
The unstable dome surface creates a constant challenge. Your muscles must continuously fire and adjust to maintain balance, which translates directly to better control and resilience on stable ground.

How to do it:
• Place BOSU ball flat side down.
• Step firmly onto the center of the dome.
• Drive through your heel to step up, focusing on control (not speed.)

Try to hold your balance at the top for 2-3 seconds.

Slowly lower back down.
➡️ Start with 3 sets of 8-10 reps per leg.

Pro Tip: Once you’re comfortable, try stepping up in different directions (forward, lateral, and at a 45-degree angle) to challenge your stability from every angle.
