It’s completely normal to hear a little voice in your head say, “I’m too old for this.”

But what if that voice is wrong? What if this is actually the perfect time to start?

Science has some incredibly encouraging news for you.

Researchers worked with a group of 85-year-olds and found that after just 12 weeks of simple resistance training, they increased their strength by 46%. That’s the same growth you’d see in someone decades younger.

Think about what that means. After 50, we do tend to lose about 1% of our strength per year. But here’s the exciting part: that decline isn’t a one-way street. With the right kind of movement, you can reverse years of that loss in a matter of weeks.

This is the time of year that many of us participate in the CrossFit Open. It's one workout per week for 3 weeks. Some post their scores in the nationwide event, some do the workout to see where they are compared to last year and some do it for fun & to be part of the community.

If you don't know our gym - we're different. We have group fitness classes, personal training, CrossFit, kids and teens, low impact, 50+ and ladies only programs. It's a little bit of everything and during this 3-week challenge, everyone comes together for these workouts.

We also choose a charity to donate to and do the workouts as a community. This year it's MSPCA Angell .angell to help animals in need. Many of us have adopted from their Nevins & Boston sites and want to help more cats and dogs find loving homes like ours. https://www.instagram.com/mspca.angell/

We made it through January! For many, the initial burst of New Year's energy can start to fade as we settle into the reality of our routines. Here’s how to keep that hard-earned momentum alive this month:

🔥 Revisit & Adjust Your Goals
If your January plan felt too ambitious, scale it back! Consistency with smaller, achievable goals beats burnout. Celebrate the progress you have made.

🧥 Embrace the Season
Don’t fight the weather—use it. Try a winter hike, layer up for a brisk walk, or find a cozy corner for a yoga session. The contrast of cold air and exercise can be incredibly invigorating.

🤝 Find Your Crew
