"Jardin du Bien-être. A Spring Reflection"
Spring is here.
Like a child seeing candy, I am always in awe when I see the first bourgeons timidly opening up in my garden. And automatically, I smile. The energy in the air already feels different. Tiny green shoots are piercing the soil. The birds return in flocks, foraging the garden, singing to one another.
As I stood there taking it all in, the scents, the sounds, the feeling evoked by just seeing these tiny bourgeons of hope, it reminded me of Jardin du Bien-être (Wellness Garden), an aromatherapy mist I crafted a couple of years ago. A scent created to capture that first breath of spring.
Its top notes opened with Bergamot, bright and uplifting, capturing that first warm ray of spring sunlight, the way the light feels when it finally returns with real warmth. Together with Lavender, sweet and herbal and calm, the scent that wraps around you gently as you walk through the garden unhurried and at peace, and sweet green aromatic Basil formed the top trio.
At its heart are the floral notes of Rose, Geranium, and Palmarosa. Sweet, vibrant, and comforting, the kind of scent that makes you stop walking and simply breathe it all in.
And at the base, Vetiver and Patchouli for the rich dark earthiness of wet soil after spring rain, that deep grounding scent that tells you the earth is alive and ready. Sandalwood wrapped around everything, warm and creamy and sheltering, like a tall tree at the edge of the garden holding the whole scene tenderly in place to deliver this aromatic message:
Feel spring.
