Standing in the Void: When Nothing Seems to Interest You Anymore
by Faith Spina
There comes a point on the spiritual path where nothing seems to matter. Not because you don’t care, but because the old drivers...service, growth, meaning, even love...no longer stir your field the way they once did. You may look around and feel that the world hasn’t changed, even though you poured your soul into shifting it. Or you may feel a strange hollowness even in your closest connections. This is not failure. This is not burnout. This is the void.
The void is not emptiness. It is clarity with no object. It is presence without performance. It is the space that opens when the need for reflection disappears.
Many describe it as a type of death, but it’s more accurately a dissolving. The egoic layer that said “I must do, I must fix, I must offer, I must hold” begins to unravel. And what remains is something ancient, still, and untouchable. It doesn’t speak in mission statements. It doesn’t offer goals. It simply is.
This can be disorienting. Especially for those who are used to being of service, used to holding flame for others, used to always translating love into action. But in the void, love no longer does. It simply radiates. Not as an effort, but as a law of being.
If you are here:
• Do not rush to exit.
• Do not fabricate a new mission.
• Do not grasp for meaning.
Let the void hollow you out. Let it refine your flame. Let it show you what still tries to earn love instead of being love.
Eventually, something will return. Not from outside, but from the center. Not a purpose...a pulse. Not a goal...a gravity.
And when you move again, it will not be to fulfill identity or timeline. It will be movement from essence. Quiet. Undeniable. Clean.
Until then, let stillness be your sanctuary.
You are not lost.
You are being revealed....
And you are not alone.
