When I started Athletic Trainer Finder, I wasn’t sure anyone would pay attention or notice. Just under 4 months later, 2,000+ of you proved otherwise. Thank you! We are just getting started!

Now let’s talk about what’s on the board.

The Cleveland Browns posted an Athletic Trainer Spotter role this week. $125 an hour. Home games only. NFL concussion protocol oversight from the video booth. Most ATs have no idea this job exists.

A TBI Diagnostic Center in Federal Way, WA is hiring an AT to diagnose traumatic brain injuries using laser eye tracking and QEEG technology. No experience required. $80,000–$85,000. Monday through Friday. I had never seen a role like this before this week.

And UC Davis posted an Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine budgeted at $75,000–$90,000. In California. Where a one-bedroom in Davis runs $1,400 a month. Moving into administration in a high-cost state doesn’t always pay the way people think it does.

That’s three conversations most job boards won’t have with you.

A lacrosse scrimmage in Ipswich, MA ended in a serious injury. No athletic trainer was on site. No athletic director. A failed response.

Within days, the school's longtime athletic trainer resigned amidst the negativity surrounding the incident.

The district's response? Repost the job. Part-time.

This week includes the highest salary ceiling we’ve seen so far, with one role reaching $240K — a clear example of what the top end of the profession can look like when it’s structured like a true healthcare operation.

A few roles worth highlighting:

• Senior Director, Athletic Medicine (USC) — $145,600–$240,240
• First Assistant Athletic Trainer (Seattle Sounders FC) — $85,000–$90,000
• Manager, Medical Administration (MLS) — $80,000–$85,000
• Injury Prevention Consultant (Onsite Ergonomics) — $90,000
• Athletic Trainer (Northwest ISD, TX) — $69,441–$91,838
• Certified Athletic Trainer (Millbrook) — $45.00–$47.05/hr (~$93K–$97K)

Transparency is trending in the right direction — about 60% of full-time roles listed compensation — but there’s still a noticeable gap depending on the setting.

139 new athletic trainer jobs hit the Athletic Trainer Finder board this week, and the market continues to look pretty familiar.

Nothing this week really knocked my socks off — but there was plenty of volume, a few interesting postings from recognizable employers, and some subtle shifts worth paying attention to.

Two things that stood out:
• Early postings for the 2026–27 school year
• The appearance of a few hybrid/virtual AT roles

Both feel like responses to ongoing staffing challenges more than true innovation, but they’re signals worth watching.
