In the fast-paced world of pharmacy, it's important to take a moment to show gratitude & appreciation towards our colleagues & staff. These amazing individuals work tirelessly behind the scenes, ensuring that patients receive the care they need. Let's explore some simple yet meaningful ways we can express our thanks:

1️⃣ Say it with words: Take a few moments each day to acknowledge your colleagues' hard work. A heartfelt thank you or a handwritten note can go a long way in making someone feel valued.

2️⃣ Celebrate their successes: When someone achieves something great, whether big or small, make sure to recognize their accomplishments publicly. It could be as simple as giving them a shout-out during team meetings or sharing their achievements on social media platforms.

3️⃣ Offer assistance: Show your support by lending a helping hand whenever possible. Whether it's offering guidance on challenging tasks or stepping up when someone needs time off, being there for your colleagues fosters an environment of teamwork & collaboration.

4️⃣ Small gestures matter: Sometimes all it takes is a small act of kindness to brighten someone's day. Surprise your co-workers with thoughtful treats like bringing in coffee or snacks, leaving uplifting notes on their desks, or organizing surprise celebrations for special occasions.

Remember that expressing gratitude is not just about saying thank you; it also involves actively showing appreciation through actions. Let's create a culture of gratitude & appreciation within our pharmacy family, where everyone feels valued & motivated to give their best.

💜 Tag your colleagues below & let them know how much you appreciate them! 💜

World C.O.P.D. Day is observed every year on the third Wednesday of November.

This year, it’s commemorated on November 15. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (C.O.P.D.) is a type of preventable and treatable progressive lung disease that is characterized by long-term respiratory symptoms and airflow limitation. Its main symptoms include shortness of breath and a cough, and possible chronic sputum production. It’s a progressive disease that worsens over time, making everyday activities such as walking or dressing more and more difficult. The most common cause of C.O.P.D. is to***co smoking and other inhaled toxic particles and gasses. Other factors are Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, older age, and genetics.

World Diabetes Day is every year on November 14, first created in 1991 by the International Diabetes Foundation and the World Health Organization. Diabetes is a chronic disease where the pancreas doesn’t produce enough insulin if any at all. It also leads to serious health conditions and, is why we take this day to spread awareness and education.

Having to manage blood sugar levels on a daily basis is a time-consuming and costly endeavor, as the economic cost of diabetes globally is around $727 billion (USD) and in the US alone it costs almost a third of that, at $245 billion.

The costliness and its prevention create even more reason for us to spread awareness of the disease, and also celebrate the birth of the man who helped bring insulin into the modern world as an effective treatment against it.

“November is National Diabetes Month, a time when communities across the country seek to bring attention to diabetes. This year’s focus is on taking action to prevent diabetes health problems.

“Diabetes is a disease that occurs when your blood glucose, also called blood sugar, is too high. It affects about 37 million Americans, including adults and youth. Diabetes can damage the eyes, kidneys, nerves and heart, and it is linked to some types of cancer.

“But there’s also good news: Taking charge of your health may help you prevent diabetes health problems.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!🧡🕸️🎃

Straddling fall and winter, Halloween is a time of celebration as well as superstition. It's believed to have originated in an ancient Celtic festival where villagers would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off roaming ghosts. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a day to honor saints and martyrs. Very quickly the evening before this became known as All Hallows Eve and later Halloween.

Over time Halloween evolved into a community-based, child-friendly, trick-or-treating extravaganza that happens across cultures in many parts of the world. From a witch hunt to a community connector, Halloween brings joy to those who love it.

National Food Day falls on October 24 each year. This day, celebrated for the first time in 1975, was created by the Center for Science and Public Interest (CSPI) and was supposed to be similar to Earth Day. The day toasts nutritious and healthy food, and focuses on educating people on healthy eating, good farming methods, and safe food production. It also reminds us of the strides we’ve made in living more healthy lives and growing food in viable, responsible ways.
