This holiday season, help us share Ella's story as she waits for her forever family...

ATTENTION MASSACHUSETTS FAMILIES - MEET ELLA: Our friends at the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network have a beautiful 8-year-old girl with Down syndrome who is available for adoption...

ELLA is a vibrant 8-year-old who lights up every room she enters. Known as the "mayor" of her school, she has a natural gift for connection and making people feel valued. Ella has an independent spirit, a sassy sense of humor, and leads with charisma and warmth. She loves listening to music, dancing, coloring, and outdoor adventures—especially swinging at the park. Her favorite foods include broccoli, and she delights in watching Encanto, Paw Patrol, and Disney Princesses. Ella enjoys visits to the library, park, and local attractions like the butterfly place. She thrives with her foster siblings and pets and sleeps peacefully in her own room at night.

A future adoptive family would ideally have a flexible schedule and some knowledge of sign language to support her communication needs. Families of any constellation, with or without children, are welcome to apply. Adoptive families MUST live in Massachusetts to maintain her birth family relationships. Placement fees are waived since this is an adoption from foster care.

To be considered for Ella, you must have a domestic, foster-to-adopt home study that is signed, updated, and you must be immediately available to adopt. If you are interested and on the NDSAN registry, please review all the information here:

Meet Ella from Massachusetts. Ella is 8 years old and has Down syndrome. Only families from Massachusetts are being considered to maintain her birth family relationships. Placement fees are waived since this is an adoption from foster care.

Since 2017, MDSC Cares has been a lifeline for families facing extended hospitalizations, complex medical circumstances, and critical health challenges. 💙💛

This holiday season, we're sharing how MDSC Cares supported Helena and Gabriel Desir and the Coughlan family through open-heart surgeries, NICU stays, and beyond.

💙💛 "There is nothing more comforting than knowing MDSC is just one phone call away." — Helena Desir
💙💛 "What MDSC does is unreal." — Danielle Coughlan

These families are just 2 of the 150+ families we serve yearly through MDSC Cares. ✨

Please help us continue being there when families need us most. 🎁

The Premier Resource for Down Syndrome Info, Networking & Advocacy in MA and beyond

The MDSC strives to ensure all individuals with Down syndrome in Massachusetts are valued, included, and given opportunities to pursue fulfilling lives by providing information, networking opportunities, and advocacy for people with Down syndrome and their families, educators, health care professionals, and the community-at-large.

The MDSC was founded in 1983 when parents met in a living room to share information about their children, provide support for each other and strategize how to educate their families, schools and communities. More than three decades later, the MDSC has over 3,500 members, an energetic Board of Directors, a dynamic management team, and a vision to ensure that every person with Down syndrome has the opportunity to reach his or her full potential.

Today, with our wealth of connections and expertise, the MDSC is prepared to meet the needs of all our families on a number of levels through longstanding, proven programs and bold new initiatives. The MDSC offers a broad array of programs to serve people with Down syndrome and their families throughout the state, including: our signature Parent's First Call Program, a volunteer, state-wide group of trained parent mentors available 24/7 that is a national model; two major annual conferences and an adult conference, which draw national and international experts in their fields; a Buddy Walk® Program that includes 3 Buddy Walks throughout the state; our Your Next Star employment initiative, which is opening the eyes of employers to the value of employees with Down syndrome; Self-Advocate Programs like Advocates in Motion and our Self-Advocate Advisory Council, which provide opportunities for teens and adults with Down syndrome while making empowerment a central component; and our public policy program, which has passed major legislation on the state level and been a leader nationally.
