CNHS Intercultural Excellence Speaker Series: Narratives of Gender Affirming Care in the U.S.

Join us on Wednesday, March 18 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM for a virtual conversation with Teresa Graziano, PhD, Assistant Professor of Nursing.

Dr. Graziano’s research focuses on minority stress among sexual and gender minorities and the health disparities that affect people across sexes and genders. In this session, they will share perspectives from intersex, women, and trans individuals who are navigating gender affirming care in the United States. They will also highlight opportunities to strengthen patient-centered care for LGBTQ+ communities.

Could the gut microbiome play a role in improving MS treatments? UVM postdoctoral researcher Theresa Montgomery is investigating how microbes like Akkermansia and nutrients such as vitamin K may influence disease progression and support myelin repair.

Dr. Kim Bauerly will share “Beyond the Surface: Addressing Social Anxiety in Adults Who Stutter and the Interplay Between Psychological Distress and Physiological Dysregulation.”
