Grief is a deeply personal experience that can be both overwhelming and debilitating. Each person moves through grief differently, some may feel waves of sadness, fatigue or emotional numbness. Others may carry tension, anger or physical pain.
From a massage perspective, grief can create profound effects in the body. Emotional stress often leads to physical manifestations such as tightness in the chest, shallow breathing, clenched jaw, hunched shoulders or a heavy, protective posture. Muscular tension, especially in the neck, shoulders and back can become chronic. Grief may also weaken the immune system, disturb sleep and contribute to overall fatigue.

Massage Therapy can help by acknowledging the whole person, offering comfort and a compassionate presence during a time when words may not be enough.

Reflexology has always been something that held my interest. A few years ago I took a 16 hour course and fell in love. From there, I entered Massage Therapy school and began my practice. A few months later, Reflexology once again called to me and I enrolled in a 3oo hour Integrated Reflexology course.

As one of the only Certified Registered Reflexologists in Southeast Iowa, I offer a basic over-all wellness session where all areas of the body are affected. I also have several specific protocols which focus on certain needs. These protocols include sessions for Fibromyalgia/Auto Immune, PTSD/Anxiety, Chemotherapy/Hospice Care, Lymphatic and Plantar Fasciitis.
