PBAAlert: PBA (Pseudobulbar Affect) is a neurological condition affecting many people. It occurs when the communication between the brain's frontal lobe (which controls emotions) and the cerebellum and brain stem (which regulate reflexes) is disrupted. This can cause people to display emotions that are overwhelming or out of context. If you or someone you know is experiencing this, please don't hesitate to reach out for help and support.

Damage to the brain caused by a stroke can cause emotional symptoms and personality changes that can be difficult for both the stroke survivor and their loved ones. One specific type of stroke damage that can be particularly unsettling is a neurological condition called pseudobulbar affect (PBA).

It's alarming that the region has the highest rate of stroke among young adults. It's likely due to the rise in risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity. It's important to understand our risk and take action to keep our bodies healthy.
