Being back on the ISU campus... speaking to dietetics students in the Student Dietetic Association Club that I was in as a student... priceless!

Thank you to Priscila for inviting me to share about my career path and connect with students.

The best moment of the evening for me was when a student introduced herself to me and shared with me that I was the dietitian who supported her family member through their eating disorder recovery. I am just blown away at the threads that connect us all. 💕

In the past year, I've expanded my work to offer training, consultation, and clinical supervision for professionals. I am deeply grateful to the organizations who see the need to enhance their staff's understanding of how to support and treat those struggling with dysfunctional eating and body image.

This I visited my friends at Self Reliance and made a couple tasty dishes, including this Spring Berry-Almond Salad! 🥗

As I tell the folks at these classes every month, nutrition should be easy, tasty, and affordable.

If it doesn’t taste good, what’s the point? Nobody can sustain eating patterns that aren’t satisfying.

My hope as a dietitian is to help people enjoy food and stress less about it. 💕

Lucy is 12 today!

If only we could see a show of hands for how many clients’ lives she’s touched.

Lucy has an intuitive sense for when someone needs a tender cuddle. She loves to lay on laps (with permission) and snuggle next to clients’ feet.

She is the best coworker I could imagine, and probably the favorite employee here at Food Freedom! 😅

I witness bravery every day in my office.

Today, it was the bravery of a client who ate these Christmas cookies alongside me.

If you knew her story, you would see her as I do, as a fierce warrior who keeps pushing, against any odds.

Doing this work, supporting people in this way, is such a privilege.

As we enter this holiday week, I am feeling immense gratitude to the clients and families I get to support and guide.

Butternut Squash, Kale, and White Bean Soup 😋

Dietetic intern Jess and I brought it to the clients at Self Reliance this week to rave reviews.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food should taste good. IMO, there’s no value in teaching folks about nutrition if it doesn’t include enjoyment and accessibility.
