Our center was lucky to host visitors from International Visitor Leadership Program group on Fentanyl and Protecting Public Health this past week. This group included international experts in their fields of psychiatry, law enforcement, medicine, public health, and counseling. Our Executive Director, Cam Lauf, gave short presentation and discussed the intersection of addiction, drug trafficking/supply, fentanyl/xylazine, and compounding problems like homelessness, economic strains, mental illness, and pandemic. We greatly appreciate your visit!

A note from the event organizer, Will Divine:

"I never wanted to get clean because I thought it would kill my social life." I’ve heard that same line over and over from others in recovery—and honestly, I believed it too. For a long time, partying felt like the only way to connect. But when my spiral brought me to the edge, I realized the real threat wasn’t sobriety—it was staying where I was.

When I finally reached my own turning point, I thought I’d lose everything fun, especially the social life I thought I had. But the truth? I was already isolated. My phone rarely rang, my friendships had faded, and I kept my family at arm’s length.

Now, one year into recovery, everything has changed. I’ve found community, connection, and something I never expected—joy. I’m surrounded by people who get it, who care, and who know how to have a damn good time without needing to escape it all.

So this Halloween, we’re throwing a party to celebrate life after the grave. A life after addiction. A life that’s truly alive.

Night of the Undead isn’t your typical Halloween party—it’s a sober celebration of recovery, resilience, and the kind of fun that doesn’t come with regrets.
Join us as we dance with the undead, raise the spirits (not the shots), and show the world what it looks like to party with purpose.

Good vibes only: this is an all inclusive, clean and sober event. All Turning Point policies will be upheld. Zero tolerance for drugs, alcohol, or other unwanted behavior.

Let’s get spooky—and stay alive.

"One of the hardest things was learning that I was worth Recovery" - Benjamin Alire Saenz. Addiction often takes away much more than our physical health and material things. It can destroy our sense of self-worth. We all deserve recovery. No matter where we've been or what we've done, we all deserve to be well again. Together, we can remind each other of our worth.

From Alex: Riding For Recovery is my mission to celebrate recovery, raise awareness about addiction, and inspire others to believe that healing is possible. I am going to be riding his motorcycle 6,000 miles from Vermont to Panama to raise $50,000 for the Turning Point Center in Burlington, VT — a place that helps people rebuild their lives. New group: Writers for Recovery!! This incredible organization is coming to our center on Sundays at 1:30pm. See below for the full-length description:
In this 10-week [one hour per session] workshop, participants write for 7-minutes responding to a simple prompt, and share if they so choose, reading the work out loud twice. There are no formal rules, but guiding principles such as, “everyone is in recovery from something,” and “positive feedback only” make this workshop series transformative. What it is not: it is not a critique of writing conventions, a literary workshop, a place for previously written materials, and not just for writers.
