Woman Crush Wednesday goes to someone who is showing up for Burlington families in the most extraordinary ways.

Meet Dr. Amy Correa - Navy veteran, Doctor of Occupational Therapy, mom of three, founder of Stacked Therapies, and Burlington's own pelvic floor therapist at The Healing Tree.

Through Stacked Therapies, Amy serves the pediatric population in Burlington and surrounding areas - meeting kids at home, at school, at daycare, and out in their community. Her vision is simple and powerful: every child has a unique gift, and it takes a special therapist to see the light and ignite the fire.

At The Healing Tree, Amy practices pelvic floor therapy for adult women. If you have never heard of it - your pelvic floor supports your bladder, bowel, and uterus and affects everything from core strength to postpartum recovery to everyday comfort. Amy is here to help you understand your body and feel confident.

And yes - Amy and her husband Chris hit the dance floor for Dancing with the Stars: School Days to raise money for the BASD Foundation and were absolutely on fire. šŸ”„

Children, moms, families. Amy shows up for all of them. Burlington is so lucky to have her.

Check out Stacked Therapies and The Healing Tree and show Amy some love

Hi! I’m Dr. Amy Correa šŸ‘‹
…and I’m your new pelvic floor therapist!

If you’re wondering ā€œwhat even is pelvic floor therapy?ā€ — you’re not alone. Most people have never been taught about this part of their body, but it plays a HUGE role in everyday life.

Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles that sits at the base of your pelvis. Think of it like a hammock that supports your bladder, bowel, and (for women) uterus. These muscles help with things like:
• Bladder and bowel control
• Core strength and stability
• Pregnancy and postpartum recovery
• Sexual health and function
• Even low back and hip pain

So… who is pelvic floor therapy for?

Honestly? More people than you think.

You might benefit if you:
• Leak when you cough, sneeze, or exercise
• Feel pressure or heaviness in your pelvic area
• Have pain with movement or intimacy
• Are pregnant or recently postpartum
• Struggle with constipation or urgency
• Deal with chronic low back or hip pain
• Or just feel like something isn’t quite right in your body

And here’s the thing — these symptoms are COMMON, but they are NOT something you just have to live with.

Pelvic floor therapy is about helping you understand your body, build strength, reduce pain, and feel confident again in everyday life.

If you’ve been curious, unsure, or even a little nervous about it… you’re not alone. I’m here to make this feel safe, comfortable, and actually empowering šŸ’›

Feel free to reach out, ask questions, or just say hi!

Chronic lower back pain isn’t always just about your back šŸ‘€

Sometimes, the real issue is deeper—within your pelvic floor and surrounding muscle system.

Your pelvic floor works as part of your core team (along with your abs, hips, and spine) to create stability and control. When these muscles are too tight, weak, or uncoordinated, your body starts to compensate… and that compensation often shows up as persistent lower back pain.

✨ How Pelvic Floor Therapy + Dry Needling Work Together:

Pelvic floor therapy helps address the root cause:
• Improves deep core coordination and stability
• Supports posture and functional movement patterns
• Reduces tension and overcompensation
• Builds body awareness and control

Dry needling helps address the muscle restrictions:
• Releases deep trigger points and tight muscles
• Improves blood flow and healing
• Decreases pain and muscle guarding
• Helps muscles ā€œresetā€ for better movement

šŸ’” When combined, these approaches don’t just mask pain—they help your body move the way it was designed to.

Instead of chasing symptoms, we’re connecting the dots between your core, pelvic floor, and back so you can feel stronger, more stable, and more in control.

Your body is connected. Your care should be too. šŸ¤
