Iyengar Yoga Center of Vermont The Iyengar Yoga Center of Vermont is dedicated to sharing the teachings of B.K.S. We offer regular public classes, workshops, and private instruction.

Iyengar and his family, and to providing quality instruction in a safe and supportive environment. Iyengar yoga is a systematic approach to learning the classical 8-limbed practice of yoga as developed by B.K.S. Iyengar and his family in India. Iyengar yoga focuses on uniting the body, breath, and mind through attention to alignment both inner and outer and the therapeutic application of yoga asanas (postures) to help the student deal with limitation, disease, injury and pain. Each class we learn about the body and its movements as a way of entering into deep inquiry of our inner experience. It is a safe practice that is appropriate for any body, regardless of age or condition.

πŸ₯³ We are very excited to be offering a new, dedicated Kids Yoga class to our program starting this January! πŸ€ΈπŸΏπŸ€ΈπŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ€ΈπŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ
This 4-week series will take kids through a safe and fun progression of asanas (poses) that will inspire them to discover the potential in their own body’s ability. Through asana and anatomy we will learn about our bodies and how they move, learn skills for calming and self-confidence, and deepen the relationship we have with ourselves. Together we will learn how yoga can help us feel strong and nourished.

For kids ages 6-12. Advance registration is required. Students are encouraged to attend the whole series.

Join us for our very first Women’s Class! 🌺
This has been a long time dream for Rebecca to teach a class where we can gather together in one room to explore how Iyengar Yoga can aid our various life transformations: menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum, and peri/menopause, providing support, inter-generational knowledge sharing, and empowerment. ALL who want to explore these topics are welcome in this class regardless of gender identity. Bring your questions and curiosity! Babies are welcome! πŸ‘ΆπŸ»πŸ‘ΆπŸ½πŸ‘Ά

πŸ“£ Calling all (parents of) tweens and teens! Is your kiddo interested in movement? Iyengar yoga is a great way to introduce safe, fun, and embodied movement in a supportive, non competitive, and holistic environment. We are so excited to be offering this 4-week series taught by Nina Sklar to help you dip your toes into the rich world of yoga. You can expect real instruction by a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher balanced with playfulness and a relaxed vibe.

We will learn how the different asanas (postures) and pranayama (breath work) create stability and quietness, balancing our bodies, minds and emotions. We will gain steadiness through our standing and balance work, quietness from our forward bends and restorative poses, and enjoy the uplifting and stimulating effect of backbends. Nina’s teaching style is dynamic and enthusiastic and she is welcoming and encouraging to students of all abilities and experience.
