Iyengar yoga is a systematic approach to learning the classical 8-limbed practice of yoga as developed by B.K.S. Iyengar and his family in India. Iyengar yoga focuses on uniting the body, breath, and mind through attention to alignment both inner and outer and the therapeutic application of yoga asan

as (postures) to help the student deal with limitation, disease, injury and pain. Each class we learn about the body and its movements as a way of entering into deep inquiry of our inner experience. It is a safe practice that is appropriate for any body, regardless of age or condition.

Fall dates just announced!!! Our amazing Pelvic Floor and Postpartum Yoga course is back, now offered in two 4-week series. Part 1 focuses on breathing, alignment, and very gentle recuperation and rehabilitation of the pelvic floor. It is also appropriate for pregnant students. Part 2 focuses on deeper alignment, more strengthening, surrounding and connected muscle groups and anatomy, and builds on the learning in Part 1. Take one or both series!
🪷
The pelvic floor is an important but not well understood part of our anatomy and its role in postpartum recovery, postural support, organ health, and sexual function is vital. Through yoga asana (poses), pranayama (breath work), and sensory anatomical exercises we will dive deep into the anatomy, physiology, and movements of this area that supports the root of our being.
✨
We will be working closely with the information and sequences in our book, Yoga for Pelvic Floor and Postpartum Health (out now through ) which we’ve been getting great feedback about and our so happy to share with the yoga community and anyone interested in the pelvic floor.
🧡
We’ll be sharing more info over the summer but for now please save these dates!
Part 1, Tuesday 10am-12pm EST, September 30-October 21
Part 2, Tuesday 10am-12pm EST, November 11-December 9

Registration is open on our website. 🤩

What does it mean to have a “yogic mind”? How does our practice of asana and pranayama affect our nervous system, our mental patterns, and our consciousness? How do we actually move from the physical and somatic sheaths to the psychic sheaths?
We will dive deep into these questions during our two weeks of summer intensives, led by Rebecca Weisman (CIYT Level 3). To help contextualize our practice we will look at what Patanjali has to say about the different states of mind in the Yoga Sutras, and how we might experience and practice these in our Sadhana. Join us!
