Today, our residents and staff members united for a meaningful initiative as we hosted an on-site American Red Cross Blood Drive. Each donation represents a vital contribution that helps save lives and supports patients in need.
Events like this highlight the strength, compassion, and dedication that define our Twin Lakes Community. We extend our sincere appreciation to the American Red Cross for their partnership and to all donors and volunteers who helped make this event a success.
Together, we continue to demonstrate that together we can make a lasting difference.

Moneta Springs residents and staff hit the road to Boone, NC and had the best day! They explored the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts, took in those stunning Blue Ridge Parkway views, and wrapped it all up with a fun dinner at Macado’s. Great company, great food, and lots of smiles!

Residents of Twin Lakes enjoyed a wonderful Kenyan-themed luncheon in support of Together Women Rise (TWR) — a nonprofit dedicated to achieving global gender equality through learning, giving, and community building. Our resident led Twin Lakes Chapter has been active since 2012 and recently received recognition as a 12-year supporting chapter and one of the top five contributors in our region! A heartfelt thank you to our amazing culinary team for preparing such a beautiful meal in support of this inspiring cause.

The blue heron is a familiar and welcome presence on our campus — poised, graceful, and always a delight to see. We’re fortunate to have not just one, but a pair — a male and female — who make their home here. Their quiet beauty has inspired countless photos and videos captured by our residents, each one a reminder of the natural charm that surrounds us at Twin Lakes.

It’s easy to understand why we chose to name the Blue Heron Pub in their honor. While our Pub may be a bit more spirited than serene, both share a welcoming atmosphere and a sense of community that residents and friends enjoy.

Have you spotted our herons recently? Share your favorite photo or video in the comments — we’d love to see them!

A Wee Bit o’ Scotland Came to TLC!
What an incredible afternoon we recently had at our “Active Aging” Mini Highland Games! From the sound of the bagpipes to the Parade of the Clans, Scottish trivia, and a lively round of games on the Deacon Pointe lawn — it was smiles all around. Our “athletes” gave it their all in the Tossing of the Caber (pool-noodle edition), Hammer Throw, Stone Put, Sheaf Toss, and even a spirited Relay Race. We also enjoyed an “Active Aging Walk Around the Lake”, discovering Scottish landmarks like Loch Ness and Ben Nevis along the way — with a much-deserved refreshment stop at our own “Glenfiddich Distillery.” Cheerleaders, Clan members, and onlookers alike joined in the fun, proving once again that Active Aging is truly active! The afternoon wrapped up perfectly with Scottish dancing sing-along, and prizes for our winning Clans. A huge thank-you to everyone who participated and to the Robert Burns Scottish Society for sponsoring this unforgettable event. Slàinte mhath!

Each year, the Triad Retirement Living Association recognizes extraordinary individuals through its Caregiver of the Year awards. This year, two of our very own, Krysten Collins and Tammy Ledford - were recognized at the awards luncheon in Greensboro! In addition, Krysten was named the top caregiver in the Home Health/Home Care/Hospice category. Both received framed certificates and gift cards. According to their supervisor, "these two pour their hearts into what they do every single day, and I couldn’t be prouder or happier for them." Congratulations!

What an amazing morning at our annual CROP Walk! The sun was shining, the energy was high, and we had an incredible turnout. Sponsored by the Residents’ Association, Twin Lakes continues to rank among the largest supporters nationwide. During today’s ceremony, we were honored to be designated a Legacy Community by Church World Service, recognizing the many years of service and fundraising our residents have dedicated to hunger relief efforts. Thank you to everyone who helped make today so special — your enthusiasm and support truly made a difference!
