Discovery Place Discovery Place is a 12 Step recovery retreat for men suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction

Located on 17 rolling acres just west of Nashville, Tennessee, Discovery Place opened its doors in June, 1997 as a recovery retreat for men. Based on the program outlined in Alcoholics Anonymous, Discovery Place navigates guests through a proven program of action-oriented recovery in daily workshops, twelve-step meetings and personal service commitments. Over the last 15 years Discovery Place has helped over 2100 men and their families through 30, 60 and 90 day residential recovery programs complimented by an array of family support and continuing care. Discovery Place also hosts public outreach and education programs which reach more than 5,000 participants in Middle Tennessee each year.

Discovery Place was privileged to take part in the dedication ceremony of “Kam’s House” this past Saturday.

Kamuela Martin, beloved Discovery Place alumni and friend, tragically passed away last year, far too soon. In an amazing gesture of love, respect and service, Kam’s family decided to donate his house to Discovery Place so it can continue to offer safe harbor for alcoholics and addicts on their paths of recovery. Friends and family of Kam all gathered to celebrate and honor his generosity and service. There were tears, there was laughter; leis and POG! (a most delicious Hawaiian fruit beverage). There was also wonderful food at Zander's Woodfired Pizza.

We are eternally grateful for the kindness and generosity of the Martin family and the hard work they have continued to do in order to make this wonderful dream come true for men in our community. From the bottom of our hearts here at Discovery Place, Thank you. GLORY!

Congratulations to Seth D. on celebrating one year of sobriety today! Seth's journey took him to multiple treatment centers before he arrived at Discovery Place a year ago. Here he found a dedicated community of men ready to walk the path of recovery alongside him. He has grown into a model son, brother, uncle, friend and coworker.
