Emergency departments across Minnesota are facing a surge of four illnesses at once – COVID-19, RSV, norovirus, and the flu. Higher patient volumes and longer wait times are placing pressure on hospitals not felt since the pandemic.
Here’s how you can help:
➡️ Stay up to date on vaccines for flu and COVID-19. Fewer than 30% of Minnesotans are up to date on flu vaccines, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.
➡️ Practice good hand hygiene and stay home when sick.
➡️ Know where to go for the right care at the right time – Urgent care and virtual visits might be a better alternative to long ER wait times. *If you are experiencing a medical emergency, go to the nearest emergency department.
