International Urogynecology Awareness Day is coming up on February 20.

Why is this day important?

Because pelvic floor conditions affect many women, yet urogynecology, the medical subspecialty dedicated to these conditions, is still not widely known.

As a result, many women quietly live with bladder leakage, pelvic discomfort, or pain, believing it’s something they simply have to accept. They don’t β€” and support is available.

International Urogynecology Day was created by IUGA to raise awareness, encourage open conversations, and highlight the work being done worldwide to improve women’s pelvic health.

Join us in the lead-up to February 20 as we share stories, resources, and insights from across the global urogynecology community.

In January, we raise awareness of Obstetric A**l Sphincter Injuries (OASIs), a crucial yet often overlooked aspect of maternal health.

OASIs occur in 3% of all births and 6% of first vaginal births. They are also the most common cause of a**l incontinence in women worldwide, significantly impacting quality of life.

Join us in promoting understanding, prevention, and support for those affected by OASIs.
