A little sneak peek from the OR with Dr. John Luck 👀

This beautiful 58-year-old patient underwent a comprehensive facial rejuvenation: extended deep plane facelift, deep neck lift with submandibular gland reduction, brow lift, and CO₂ laser resurfacing.

One of the most important (and often overlooked) contributors to neck aging is the submandibular gland. In select patients, carefully reducing this structure — rather than just removing fat — is what creates a truly defined, elegant neckline. In fact, no fat was removed from her neck in this case.

I’m proud to be among a small number of surgeons in the region performing both a true extended deep plane facelift and safe, effective submandibular gland reduction — techniques that allow for more natural, longer-lasting results when done correctly.

I also incorporate advanced adjuncts, including biologic adhesives beneath the skin and sealing technology for gland reduction, to optimize healing and minimize bruising.

You’ll notice a small scalp drain — this is temporary (removed on post-op day 1) and helps reduce swelling and bruising, particularly around the eyes.
