In Black communities, the impact of this esophageal cancer is disproportionately high, often diagnosed at later stages when treatment is more difficult.
We are changing the narrative through education.

April is Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month.

Trop souvent, on arrive à l’hôpital trop t**d.

The 13th International Congress on Cervical Cancer just ended in Yaoundé Cameroon. The Patcha Foundation was represented at the three-day event by Mr. Henry Nkwa, our Program Manager.

The event was jointly organized by the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Polytechnique de Yaoundé, the University of Yaoundé, the University Hospitals of Yaounde, the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and the University Hospitals of Geneva.

In addition to updating knowledge on cervical cancer prevention, and sharing expertise in the diagnosis and management of precancerous and early invasive cervical lesions, the congress introduced the innovative use of artificial intelligence in cervical cancer screening to improve detection and management practices.

The takeaways were many but one unifying action point emerged:
There must be strong alignment with WHO targets for eliminating cervical cancer: 90% vaccination, 70% screening and 90% treatment.

Patcha Foundation is committed to this goal and we are honored to be part of history in the making.

Which of these gives you the most hope?

Progress is more than just a statistic—it’s more time with the people we love.

The latest data from Q1 2026 shows that cancer survival rates in the U.S. have reached a milestone 70%. This is a testament to the power of research, early detection, and the incredible new therapies being approved by the FDA this year.

From advancements in "liquid biopsies" (blood tests that catch cancer early) to the rise of personalized vaccines, the landscape of cancer care is shifting toward more effective, less toxic treatments.

We have compiled the Top 10 findings from the first quarter of 2026 so you can see how research is changing the game for patients and families everywhere.

Which of these gives you the most hope? Comment below!
