We just got the call that there is NO EVIDENCE of DISEASE!!! All tests are CANCER FREE!! All glory to God for this amazing news!!!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the prayers!! After 4 years of countless labs, tests, scans, biopsies, and procedures under anesthesia…it’s still hard. Really hard. I don’t know if it ever gets easier, but I do know that our faith and trust in God and your prayers have always given us the strength to get through it. We are forever grateful and always praying for all the families fighting this same fight 🙏🏻❤️

Please pray for Lawson’s upcoming procedures on Monday, July 21st. He will have a bone marrow biopsy, PET scan, pulmonary function tests, and cardiac testing as we approach the second anniversary of his second bone marrow transplant.

This summer has been truly amazing! It’s been wonderful to see Lawson getting back to doing the things he loves and able to just be a kid. Our family has been able to soak in the long summer days together with plenty of laughter, fishing, friends, and rainbows! Rainbows have always been special, but seeing a rainbow continually form right over our house this summer has brought a joy and comfort that I can’t explain. It’s been a summer of new beginnings, promises kept, and continued hope for more beautiful healthy days in the future. 🌈

We know that we would not be at this point in the journey without God, Lawson’s brilliant team, and all of your prayers over these last four years. We ask that you continue to lift Lawson up for cancer free scans and bone marrow and that God continues his miraculous healing in Lawson. We are forever grateful for your love and prayers. 🙏🏻❤️

School is out for SUMMER and we are starting it off with great news from Lawson’s May clinic visit! All bloodwork looks great and his endocrinology labs/X-rays show normal growth and development. It’s truly miraculous that he has come so far and is doing so well almost 2 years after his second bone marrow transplant! All glory to God!!

This was a very special school year for Lawson. He was able to complete the entirety of 5th grade IN SCHOOL with his peers and teachers for the first time since being diagnosed with AML at the end of 1st grade, four years ago. Transitioning back to school full time came with some challenges, but Lawson always pushed through! He kept his grades up while taking academic gifted classes, tried some new sports, made new memories with friends, and was recognized as the 5th grade Student of the Year! James Michael also had a great school year! He graduated 8th grade in the top of his class, earned high school credits while being involved in 3 sports, received the Student Athlete award, and made lasting memories his final year at LRS. It was such a blessing to have the boys back in the same school together before big brother heads to high school next year. We are so thankful for a wonderful school and community that helped make this year so special! God’s got big plans for them both and we are so grateful to watch them unfold one day at a time! We are soaking it all in and not taking anything for granted!

We have started the planning for Lawson’s 2 year post transplant testing that will take place at the end of July. Each and every healthy day is a miracle and a blessing and this upcoming 2 year milestone is an important one. Please pray for Lawson’s continued health and healing and for his amazing team that has been there through it all and have become family. We will give everyone an update in July once we have a date set for the biopsy and PET scan, but for now we are ready to have some summer fun!!!! Thank you all for the love and prayers! 🙏🏻❤️

Lawson is 18 months post transplant #2 and his team couldn’t be happier with his progress!! All labs looked great in clinic this week and he continues to surprise us all with his growth and development! This is a milestone that we weren’t able to achieve with his first transplant and we thank God for the blessing of each and every day in remission. Our hearts are beyond grateful to see him happy and healthy and getting to just be a kid! We pray that God continues to bless him with health and healing as he continues this journey.

Lawson will be joining some of his Ochsner friends in Maine for Mardi Gras break! We are excited for the opportunity to experience Camp Sunshine with other local warriors and their families. We can’t wait to have more fun in the snow and hit the ski slopes for the first time ever! It’s amazing to think about just how far he has come! 18 months ago Lawson was unable to walk after he endured total body irradiation that killed tumors along the nerves in his legs in preparation for another bone marrow transplant, and now we are preparing for his first ski trip! God is good all the time! 🙏🏻❤️

This was last Christmas when Lawson and Addie finally got to meet for the first time to celebrate all the great things that the Miracle Children's Foundation is doing! Lawson’s December clinic visit went great this week! All of his labs looked good and he took his last immunization for awhile. Lawson has been taking a cancer inhibiting medication for the last year and since his labs show that he is tolerating the medication/side effects well, his doctor has decided to continue the medication for another year. We pray the next year on this medication continues to show healthy labs and continued remission all in God’s glory!

Hearing this wonderful news was truly the best way to end the year and the biggest Christmas blessing we could ever receive! Thank you all for continuing to pray for Lawson and his amazing medical team for the last three and half years. Prayers that we all have a very happy and very HEALTHY new year!! 🙏🏻❤️

Lawson’s October clinic visits were full of good news! His labs looked great in oncology and endocrinology was very pleased with his growth over the last 6 months! Neither of them were concerned about the three bones that he has broken playing flag football and simply chalked them up to “regular kid stuff” that has nothing to do with effects from treatment! We’ve been frequent flyers in orthopedics lately and while we absolutely LOVE them….we are hoping that we can give them a break (no pun intended) for awhile!! We are truly blessed with the most amazing care team for Lawson and we are forever grateful for the way they all go above and beyond in their care for Lawson and our entire family!

October was full of celebrations too!! We celebrated 3 years since Lawson’s first bone marrow transplant on October 18th! We also celebrated BOTH boys being named finalists for Student of the Year for 5th grade and 8th grade at their school, and they both ended the first nine weeks with 4.0 Honor Roll! Lawson was named 5th Grade Student of the Year for his school and is now a finalist for District Student of the Year and hoping to continue shining his light with this opportunity!

Lawson will follow up with oncology in December and we pray for continued remission and healthy reports!! To God be the glory for all that we have to be grateful for! 🙏🏻❤️

We are praising God for all the blessings He has brought our way! So far this month, we have celebrated the milestone of 1 YEAR post transplant #2 CANCER FREE, Lawson’s 11th BIRTHDAY with friends and not in the hospital, a medical release to return to SPORTS, BOTH BOYS going back to school at the same time, and healthy August labs!!

At the end of last month, Lawson led our bedtime prayers the night before we received his big test results. It started as one of his typical prayers thanking God for all that He had done that day. He prayed for all of our local cancer kiddos in their own battles, he followed with prayers for his doctors and team, but then something changed that particular night as he prayed about his own test results. “Please let them be good, but if they aren’t please be with us in getting through it.” His voice never changed, there was no fear in his words, only pure trust in Jesus that He would carry us through no matter what.

Lawson knows none of this is promised and he’s so ready to live and make up for all that he’s missed! He’s jumping in with both feet and totally disregarding all requests to take it slow and easy. If you know Lawson, he’s been that way since birth and we know that God made him that way for a reason! We are so grateful to watch him live life to the fullest and pray that God continues to shine His healing light in and through him. This little boy of ours sure has taught us a whole lot about life! 🙏🏻❤️

Lawson will return to clinic in 8 weeks for more labs and immunizations! It’s a long time to go without seeing our clinic family, but it’s always so good to miss them when Lawson is healthy! God is good all the time and we are so grateful for all of your prayers!!

All glory to God that Lawson’s test results are CANCER FREE!!!!! We could not do this without God, Lawson’s extraordinary medical team, and all of your prayers!!!! We are humbled and so very grateful for the continued love and support as God continues His work in Lawson’s journey!!! 🙏🏻❤️

Lawson’s June check-up went great today! All labs looked good and he was happy that he wasn’t due for more immunizations today. He finished the last of his monthly prophylactic breathing treatments post transplant and is nearing completion of some of his other post transplant meds as we approach the one year milestone of bone marrow transplant #2. All of Lawson’s 1 year follow-up procedures are scheduled for Monday, July 22nd. These procedures will include a pet scan, bone marrow biopsy, cardiac testing, and labs. Please pray that these results show continued remission and that Lawson is healthy and cancer free!

Also wanted to give an update on Lawson’s leg. We went in for his 4 week follow-up from the fractured growth plate in his ankle, thinking the boot was coming off, but new X-rays showed a healing fracture in his fibula…in addition to the growth plate fracture. So, he will keep the boot for another 4-6 weeks now since his leg was actually broken also. Thankfully his orthopedic doctor was so very cautious and had him in the boot the last 4 weeks and everything appears to be healing great! Lawson was a little bummed about spending more of his summer in the boot, but I promise we are making the best of it! (And we also promised his orthopedic doctor that we won’t let him go to anymore water parks until the boot is off!!) Chalking it all up to “normal” kid stuff and just so very grateful that’s all it is!!

We won’t see our clinic friends again until the big day on July 22nd. Please continue to pray for these extraordinary people that go above and beyond every day to care for all of their little warrior patients. We are so grateful for them and for all of your continued prayers for Lawson’s full and complete healing! 🙏🏻❤️

Lawson still hasn’t stopped smiling from the amazing experience he had at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans last week! Huge thank you to the PGA TOUR, Collin Morikawa, ForeKids Foundation, First Tee, and Dr. Corey Falcon for making it all happen! From being mic’d up on the course with Collin Morikawa, caddying for the pros, getting his jersey signed by Drew Brees and Derek Carr, to having a behind the scenes pass in the media room with the tournament champions Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry…..it was truly a day he will never forget!!

Lawson and Dr. Falcon have been planning to attend the Zurich together since last year when Lawson was unable to accept an invite due to his first relapse and tumor removal surgery. After subsequent tumors were found and Lawson needed a second bone marrow transplant, we honestly weren’t sure if cancer would prevent him from going again this year. We are so grateful that just 9 months post transplant #2, Lawson was healthy and strong enough to attend and fully engage in this once in a lifetime experience!

Many of you have probably seen Lawson’s video from the PGA Tour sharing some of his testimony from his cancer journey. This was a totally unexpected and unplanned part of the day. To hear Lawson’s genuine responses about all that he’s been through the last three years, and how his faith has led him through it, show how much his positive attitude and perspective truly inspire us every day!

Labs looked great in clinic yesterday and he handled shots like a pro! We will head back to see his team again in 3 weeks and do it all again with prayers for continued health and healing. Keep winning every day, Laws!! 🙏🏻❤️
