Perspective changes everything. There's a reason why we practice gratitude. When you look for the positive things in your life, no matter how simple, it makes the negative things so much smaller.

What's on your gratitude list today?

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:8-9

Thanks Amy for last night's teaching!! What was your big takeaway?

I need to remind myself of the C in our acrostic - Christ paid the price. the debt is already forgiven, so I need to pause and remember that it's not mine to carry. It's easier to offer grace, when I understand that I hold no responsibility.

"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6

In order to continue working our recovery programs, we have to learn to not allow things to bother us as well as be willing to forgive. In order to do that, we need to learn to practice grace. What exactly does that mean? How do we do it?

Join us tonight as Amy brings us Lesson 18 - Grace.

FREE childcare and dinner at 6:30pm. Worship and large group at 7pm.

If you find yourself circling back to something you've already processed or dealt with, maybe it's because you didn't fully surrender it the first time. Maybe there's an aspect that still needs attention.

Talk with your sponsor or accountability partners. Go back and work the steps. Get yourself to a meeting and pick up a new tool to help you on your recovery journey. There's so many things you can do to keep your past from wreaking havoc on your present.

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

Recovery is a process and doesn't happen overnight. Take a moment and look back at where you were before you attended your first meeting. Compare that to right now. It doesn't matter how far along you think you should be. As long as you're one step closer to recovery than your day one, you're on the right path.

Progress rather than perfection. One day at a time. These are not just clichés. They are to remind us that our recovery needs our attention daily and we're always striving for one more step.

"Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." Matthew 6:34

Who else is guilty of this? It can be the voices from our childhood that we hear on repeat or have become so engrained in us that we say it to ourselves. Maybe it's how we compare ourselves to those around us and think we are less deserving or not good enough.

We can so easily be our own worst enemy. This is not what God wants for us!! He created us in His image. This means we are beautiful, chosen, made for a purpose, children of the King... the list goes on and on.

What characteristic of God do you need to remind yourself of today?

"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are." 1 John 3:1a

Throughout the Bible, there are lots of references to paths. Paths that will guide you, paths that protect you, and even paths that lead to destruction. These paths symbolize the way we live our daily lives.

Are you on the right path today?

"In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Proverbs 3:6
