As we work through the 12 steps, we are going to experience times we feel overwhelmed, anxious, and maybe even questioning why we started in the first place. The good news is that God came for the broken hearted. When we feel empty, He wants to fill those spaces. When we feel broken, He wants to heal us. When we feel alone, He wants to comfort us.

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Thanks Stacey for last night's teaching!! What was your big takeaway?

When we remember to pray and ask God "to give us the courage to change the things we can and to accept the things we cannot change," it becomes easier for us to accept things as they really are and not as we want them to be.

Last night your child learned that sometimes people try to escape their pain by turning to “solutions” that really hurt more than they help – such as overeating, smoking, or drinking. Trying to solve problems on our own causes us to live in the dark. Your child learned that admitting we need God to control our lives is like turning on the light. Part of giving control to God means trusting in His timing, which isn’t always “right away”.

Key verse: “Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor.” Matthew 5:3

Parents – Talk about how it felt for you to actually be in the dark as a child. Then talk about how you’re inviting God into your life to take control of problems you thought you could fix on your own. Ask your child about a way that God’s light could shine on their life.

In our last lesson we learned that Hope comes when we believe that a power greater than ourselves can restore us to sanity. What exactly does it mean to be restored to sanity?

Join us tonight as Stacey answers that question and brings us Lesson 4 - Sanity.

FREE childcare and dinner at 6:30pm. Worship and large group at 7pm.

Key verse: “Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor.” Matthew 5:3

This week your child will learn that while we often try to solve problems on our own, we’re powerless to do this without God. Sometimes people even try to escape their pain by turning to “solutions” that really hurt more than they help.

We don't wake up one day completely lost to addiction, codependency, or other hurt, habit, or hang-up. It was a lot of things that added up to get us there. Which means, getting us back will also be a journey.

Join us for a Step Study and start your first step toward recovery.

Women's Step Study began Sunday, February 1st, 3pm - 5pm, though it's not too late to join.

If you're interested in signing up, please send us a private message or sign up in person at our Wednesday meeting.
