As Christians, we are called to love our neighbors, be humble and gentle, and patient with one another. Did you know we are also called into battle?

There is so much evil and chaos in the world. Luckily, God gives us everything we need to face it. That includes Celebrate Recovery! Being a sponsor or accountability partner puts you in the perfect position to step in and fight when someone else isn’t strong enough to do it on their own.

What battles are you facing today? How can we help stand with you?

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with prayer and supplication.” Ephesians 6:13-18

What was your takeaway from last night's lesson?

Denial is a false system of beliefs that are not based on reality. This can be rooted in our past failures or perhaps even fear of the future.

It's a new year and time for a new you. Are you tired of struggling? Are you overwhelmed by the lies you're hiding? Have you finally reached the point that you are ready to be rid of the pain you're fighting every day?

Please join us any Wednesday. Celebrate Recovery is a safe space where you can find healing. We are a group of broken people who will love you exactly where you are, because we've been where you are.

One day at a time. Easy does it. Do the next right thing. CR-isms that ring so true. We can't control what tomorrow will bring, but we can control our next step right now.

As we come into the New Year, be ready for a new you!! Focus on today, pay close attention to your recovery, and make the best next choice you can. If you keep on walking forward, this time next year you’ll be amazed at just how far you’ve come!!

“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:34

Now that the celebrations are slowing down, take some time today and reflect on 2025. Yes, I'm sure there were plenty of bumps or mistakes along the way. What were your successes? How much farther are you on your recovery journey? Or are you ready to start today?

The New Year is a time to celebrate, but we shouldn't forget all of the things that brought us to where we now are. What accomplishment are you most proud of from 2025? What goal are you setting for yourself for 2026?

Denial is a sneaky beast. It can be so easy to lie to yourself than face the reality of the situation.

“If we don’t talk about it, it will go away.” “Let’s pretend that didn’t really happen.” “Talking about it only makes it worse.”

Denial is only going to prolong the pain you’re experiencing. Let’s close the year out right. Step out of denial and face whatever that ugliness is that you’ve been covering up and pretending isn’t there. You may find that when you bring it out of the shadows it’s actually not as big as you thought it was. Allow God to help you face and conquer that fear.

“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.” 1 John 4:18

Did you know that your story could be what inspires someone else’s recovery? You may feel like you’re living in darkness right now. God is working a miracle in you!! Yes, you feel like you’re broken. Though each one of those cracks, God will use to shine His light through you.

Don’t be afraid to share your story with others. Seeing you do the work, even if you’re just starting out, can be the thing that encourages someone to start their own recovery journey.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
