Want a delicious, braces-friendly recipe to try while your stuck indoors ❄️❄️❄️!
We're kicking off our brand-new monthly braces-friendly recipe series with a classic.

Soft chocolate chip cookies are one of the safest sweet treats during braces, & this recipe from Allrecipes makes 24 mouth-watering cookies 🍪 for the whole family to enjoy.

Ingredients:
🥚 ½ cup butter, softened & 1 large egg
🍪 ½ cup white sugar & ½ cup packed brown sugar
🍪 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
🍪 ½ teaspoon baking soda
💧 1 teaspoon hot water
🧂 ¼ teaspoon salt
🍪 1½ cups all-purpose flour
🍪 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
🍪 ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)

How To Make:
1️⃣ Gather ingredients. Make sure the butter is softened and the egg is at room temperature.
2️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F. Beat butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
3️⃣ Beat in egg, then stir in vanilla.
4️⃣ Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter with salt and mix well.
5️⃣ Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and optional walnuts until a soft dough forms.
6️⃣ Drop rounded spoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
7️⃣ Bake about 10 minutes, until edges are lightly browned.
8️⃣ Let cool briefly on the pan, then move to a wire rack.
9️⃣ Serve immediately or store in an airtight container and enjoy.
