Today, we had the honor of attending The Women’s Behavioral Health Leadership Conference in Evanston, IL, alongside some of our most esteemed colleagues from across the country. It was a truly inspiring morning, listening to an incredible panel of female leaders, including our very own Executive Clinical Director, Dr. Chantelle Thomas. The panelists shared their experiences, embraced vulnerability, and created a space for all of us to reflect on our own journeys. A special thank you to Terri O’Connor for bringing this vision to life. Your dedication and persistence created something truly meaningful for our community, and we are deeply grateful to have been part of it.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) can be a powerful tool in enhancing and amplifying therapeutic goals and agendas when paired with a collaborative and co-created therapeutic working relationship between the client and clinician. But is KAP appropriate for individuals with a co-occurring substance use disorder (SUD)?

Join us for a thought-provoking talk on the safe and effective use of KAP for clients with co-occurring SUDs. Learn from Executive Clinical Director Dr. Chantelle Thomas about determining
a client's eligibility and suitability for treatment, a general overview of the research related to the use of Ketamine with SUDs, as well as the first-hand experience of our clinical team as they have implemented this powerful tool for individuals with co-occurring disorders.

The use of ketamine in a psychotherapeutic context allows clients to explore the deeper layers of thoughts and emotions in ways that may be difficult to achieve through traditional talk therapy alone. However, the administration of ketamine is just one component of the KAP process, and ongoing work with an established provider can influence the outcomes one has from Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. Proper preparation and ongoing integration is crucial to ensure the best outcomes for clients. These components need to be emphasized in order to support clients in making sense of their experiences and to integrate them into their daily lives.

Join us next month as Nikki Zellner shares about how KAP differentiates itself from other therapeutic models.
