As the colder months descend upon us the demands on our local social services that work tirelessly to serve the important needs of our community, in that light our October selections are:
The Butte Food Bank
The Butte Emergency Food Bank operates with the intention that no individual or family in the community experiences the fear and pain of hunger. Each year we distribute about 1,300,000 pounds of food–canned goods; boxed and bagged food; diapers; milk; bread and bakery items; meat and more–to Butte area residents, about 2,700 people each month.
The Butte Rescue Mission
The Butte Rescue Mission is a safe place to heal in a loving and supportive environment for anyone experiencing hunger and homelessness.
The Mission utilizes The 4 Walls of Protection model - a commitment to providing immediate, life-sustaining care to those in need. By addressing the core areas of survival and stability—food, shelter, clothing, and support services—we build a strong foundation that helps individuals move from crisis to hope, offering not just relief, but a path forward.
