Health is not a singular destination. One cannot reach this elusive destination (I say elusive because, again, it's not a destination at all) by doing one thing, following one rule, engaging in one habit.

Health may be better considered as a dynamic state of being, influenced by a plethora of variables.

In order to most effectively influence a healthy state, one must utilize a multifaceted approach.

Would it make sense if someone stopped eating healthy & nutritious foods simply because they were engaging in chiropractic care to address spinal sublaxations? What if someone stopped going to the gym because they elected to go to the dentist every 6 months?
Stopped sleeping because they started psychotherapy?

It's all absurd; right? Of course it is. Logic & basic knowledge tells us we need to move our bodies, eat healthy, get enough sleep, utilize appropriate professional healthcare services & so on. We also need to engage in purposeful activities to Nurture our mind, body, spirit, to actively care for our nervous system and continuously work to support our body's ability to detoxify & rid itelf of the overwhelming amount of chemicals, pollutants & toxins it's bombarded with on a daily basis.

To choose one method or one avenue while foregoing others isn't eliminating the chance for complications or contraindications, it's actually causing the pendulum to swing to the opposite end of the spectrum. Instead of promoting health (by just doing that one thing & disengaging with the others) you are promoting disbiosis, disharmony, distress, dysfunction & disease.

The secret to health & wellness is-there is no ONE secret, no one diet, magic pill, tincture, therapy or treatment. Not one class, one practitioner or one doctor is THE ANSWER.

We are dynamic, complex, individual beings, living in an extremely fluid environment.

At Nurture, we encourage our clients to engage in all spokes of their health & wellness wheel. We will never suggest or ask someone to disengage from another form of health or wellness care/activity or stop seeing another provider while receiving services. In fact, we typically advocate for our clients to expand their health & well care net & often make referrals.

My post was inspired by my interest in seeing people take full advantage of ALL the amazing tools they have available to them in order to live their best lives! I want to encourage you to keep doing ALL the good things to support a healthy mind, body & spirit and provide a gentle reminder not to put those other good things on hold while you focus on ONE facet.

We are aware that some of you have been unable to call in to the spa. Despite numerous attempts to have it corrected, our current provider is unable to remedy the situation. We have a new phone/internet service provider scheduled for install on the 19th. In the meantime if you are unable to call in, feel free to email or message us on our FB or IG page.

We will also be closed this Saturday 5/10. An extra day will be added on to all current/active time sensitive packages & memberships.
