🧠💪🏽Have you ever heard of the serratus anterior?
Most people haven’t… yet it’s called the “boxer’s muscle” because it helps you throw a punch (or just reach overhead without shoulder pain!).
When it’s weak or tight, you might notice shoulder blade “winging,” neck tension, or even shallow breathing.
✨ Ayurvedic Connection: In Maharishi Ayurveda, the serratus anterior ties closely to the Prana Vata subdosha, which governs breath and chest movement. If this muscle is tight, your breath can’t flow freely—and your mind may feel restless.
Massage + Aromatherapy Tip:
• Gentle orthopedic massage around the ribs and under the armpit helps release this muscle.
• Try diffusing Tulsi (Holy Basil) or Frankincense oils while stretching to balance Prana Vata and support calm, open breathing.
Quick Exercise:
✅ Wall push-ups (keep your back flat against the wall) – strengthens the serratus and improves posture.
💡 Think about this: What if your “stress breathing” isn’t just in your head… but in a hidden muscle around your ribs?
