Meet Faith Laack CMT

Faith is a Certified Massage Therapist who graduated from Riverland Community College with my massage therapy diploma in 2020. Her training emphasized Deep Tissue and Swedish massage, complemented by hands-on experience in multiple modalities such as Prenatal massage, Reflexology, and Sports massage.

She began her career at the Rochester Athletic Club, where she gained valuable experience working with a wide range of clients. After taking a short leave due to an injury, she is excited to return to massage therapy at BodyWise Massage.

She specializes in Swedish massage with incorporated Deep Tissue techniques, tailoring each session to meet my clients’ individual needs. She was drawn to massage therapy after having many ankle sprains, knee injuries, and being diagnosed with chronic migraines and experiencing firsthand how effective massage could be—not only in pain management and managing migraines, but in improving overall well-being.

I have loved this home for over 6 years. The neighbors are the best, it has great kitchen features (my favorite room in the house), a nice backyard, updated bathrooms, attached garage with additional storage and a basement that can be finished or just used as a personal gym (which I did).

Make the right choices!
I have been using this app on my phone for a while and I wanted to share it. Basically, you scan food and cosmetics and it rates how good it is for you. The ratings are dependent on many things - nutritional value (calories, fat, protein, etc.), as well as the amount of additives, sugar, and sodium. I find it super helpful myself. Things that I thought were healthy are just packed with additives.

So.... let's talk about being aware and intentional about what we put in and on our body. The least we can do is give our body the best chance to be healthy and feel good!

Farmer's Market
My favorite place to buy fresh, nourishing foods is at our local farmer's market. People often think this is going to be more expensive than running to the grocery store. Not these days! Almost every day, I hear somebody complaining about the price increases of groceries. Yes, it still affects your local farmer's to a point, but not anywhere near the same. At the farmer's market, the increases are not going to be as aggressive. PLUS, the quality and flavor is so much better! It makes shopping for your food fun. These farmers love to talk about their produce, meats, and baked goods. How to prepare them, and how they were grown. This connection with where our food comes from can make a big impact on our mindset. Stay to enjoy the live music. Eat from the food trucks, buy a coffee or fresh lemonade.

Herbs are a great support for keeping your liver functioning optimally. They promote cleansing, stimulate bile production, and have a protective effect that helps shield your liver from damage.

Milk Thistle The easiest way to take milk thistle is as an extract or by using the seeds to make a tea.

Dandelion Root tea is a bitter, yet very effective remedy for the liver. You can also try dandelion extract as a quicker remedy.

Turmeric extract or turmeric tablets for the most effect.

Burdock Root Use dried burdock root to make a detox tea or try burdock extract.

Yellow Dock You can buy yellow dock root to make a liver-supportive tea or tincture, and it's also easy to find in the wild (just be sure of your identification before harvesting).

Green Tea Enjoy green tea daily for the most impact, or try matcha powder, which is a more concentrated form of green tea.

Garlic Raw garlic seems to be particularly powerful for the liver. You can also try an aged garlic supplement or garlic extract.

Red Clover The easiest way to take this herb is by using dried red clover to make a tea.

Ginger You can use fresh ginger root to make tea, take the powdered root in capsules, or try it with other herbs like in this Detox Herbal Tea.

Ginseng For the most concentrated effect, try ginseng extract or ginseng capsules.
