Each year, employees at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph look forward to the annual Badminton Tournament — a tradition that not only brings plenty of fun and friendly competition, but also strengthens the bonds among staff. This year’s event was made even more special with multiple food trucks on-site, offering something for everyone to enjoy alongside the tournament.

For our team, the day carried a deeper meaning as we came together to remember and honor our friend and coworker, Mike Masuga. It was a heartfelt reminder of the close-knit community that makes Concordia such a special place to work. 💙

Concordia’s mission of caring extends to our team members by providing opportunities to learn, grow and lead. From training and tuition support to leadership development, we’re committed to helping employees shape meaningful careers. Karen Beilstein is one of many who has embraced those opportunities since starting her Concordia career in 2001. She has experienced career progression and now serves as Skilled Administrator at Concordia at Cabot.

Most recently, Karen completed Butler County Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Butler County program, a year-long experience connecting local leaders. Her class worked together on two community projects with St. Wendelin Catholic School and Butler County Community College.

“We have worked together to fundraise, and to also provide some ‘sweat equity’ to bring these projects to fruition,” she shared.
The program also offered personal growth.

“These sessions definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone,” Karen reflected. “I love working in a team environment with team accomplishments, and the program taught us about our leadership style and provided tips on how to be more effective in areas such as public speaking.”
