Balance isn’t just about standing still. It’s about moving through life with confidence. Difficulties with your balance increase your fall risk and decrease independence. Whether due to aging, a medical condition like Parkinson’s, or a recent injury, Baptist Health Therapy Centers are here to help you find your footing.

Physical therapists help people of all ages improve their balance by performing evaluations and creating treatment plans, which often include strengthening, stretching, and safe balance challenges in the clinic. If you struggle with balance, talk to your doctor about your local Baptist Health Therapy Center to see how we help you get back to being steady on your feet!

Every step of your recovery should be personalized to your unique needs. Manual therapy is a hands-on approach that uses skilled techniques like joint and soft tissue mobilization, gentle traction, and deep pressure to provide an individual treatment experience.
When these expert interventions are paired with personalized exercises and stretches, they work together to ease pain, reduce swelling, and restore the movement you need to achieve your goals. You deserve to move past the pain or stiffness holding you back so you can return to the activities you love with comfort and confidence. We invite you to talk with your doctor to see if physical therapy with manual techniques is the right treatment option for you.

Bursitis is a condition that involves painful swelling in the bursa, a small, fluid-filled sac that cushions tendons and bones near joints. Bursitis often takes place near joints that are involved in repetitive motions. Joints that are commonly affected include the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. Those dealing with bursitis will often report symptoms such as decreased and painful range of motion, tenderness, and weakness. It will be important with early physical therapy intervention to determine the specific cause of the bursitis flare up, and the reasonable changes that could be made to decrease irritation. Physical therapy care will also include pain management, increasing range of motion and strength, and safe return to activity. If you feel you are dealing with new or chronic bursitis, contact your local Baptist Health Therapy Center to see how we can help you!

The radius is the most commonly fractured bone in a wrist fracture. This injury typically happens when someone falls on an outstretched arm. There are three types of fractures. Types 1 and 2 usually do not require surgery while type 3 is more involved and typically requires surgery to repair. Once the fracture has healed, the doctor may refer you to physical therapy. During the evaluation, the therapist will assess your pain, range of motion, strength, and functional ability. Based on the evaluation, the therapists will develop a plan that will address your limitations and work towards returning you back to your normal daily activities. Contact your local Baptist Health Therapy center to see how they can help you!
