Thank you for the review of our office!

"Dr Clay is very knowledgeable, helpful and thorough; you are NEVER rushed through your visit. He wants to make sure you're getting the most out of the visit. My first visit was an hour. He went over my paperwork, LISTENED to my complaints and then went to work. Miss JoAnn is so pleasant and friendly. She gets you an appointment quickly and is good at reminding you about your appointment and reminding you it's time to make one. I highly recommend Grace Chiropractic to anyone who's looking for more than a 5 adjustment." Donna R.

A great future doesn't require a great past.

That is true for many aspects of your life. It's true spiritually and physically.
The day you stop smoking your body begins to recover. The day you begin being humble and helpful to those that don't deserve it, it benefits you.
The day you stop beating yourself up over gaining weight and start doing something about it, you will recover.
The day you let your past failures go, and continue to strive toward your goal, you begin to recover.

Faith is dead unless it is accompanied by works.
A healthy spiritual routine produces a healthy spirit.
A healthy life style, promotes a healthy life.

There is the professional way and the amature way to work out.
One of our pro weight lifters explained to me that a novice in the gym will lift a weight no matter what they are feeling at the time. A professional can't afford to get hurt while lifting, so their tissues have to be ready for the load it's about to take on.
A novice will lift when they are told to, no matter what.

Every Spring we see a lot of people that get motivated to work out and they get a personal trainer or join a gym and begin hitting it hard from day one. A month later they are hurting everywhere it seems. Your tissues need time to adapt to the new activities they are being asked to do.

Start Your Fitness Goals Without Starting with Pain
January gyms are full of enthusiastic people ready to transform their health—but pushing too hard, too fast often leads to strain and derailed goals. Your body needs time to adapt to new demands, especially if you’ve been less active.

Common mistakes include doing too much volume too soon, skipping warm-ups, ignoring proper form, and pushing through pain instead of recognizing warning signals. Your spine plays a central role in nearly every exercise. When spinal joints aren’t moving properly, your body compensates by overworking other areas, increasing injury risk. A pre-workout chiropractic check ensures your foundation is solid before adding new physical stress.

If you’re launching a new routine this year, schedule a visit to make sure your spine is ready to support your goals. We’re here to help you start strong and stay consistent!

What is one thing that affects every organ in our body, our mind, our personality, and our health?

Chemical stress, physical stress and emotional stress.

Chemical stress-sugar, caffeine, sleeping pills, anxiety meds, steroid shots as an example.(although they may be needed)

Physical stress-manual labor, repetitive actions, poor posture, one sided activities( mail carriers, golf, bowling, hair stylist, mothers)

Emotional stress- family, job, relationships, health.

Anyone of these stressors are enough to change our blood pressure, muscle tension, headaches, digestion, causing fatigue, adrenal over load and heart conditions.

Chronic anxiety may begin with mental stressors and develop into physical symptoms over time.

Each of these types of stress can affect the ability to get quality sleep. Chronic lack of good sleep is a often over looked as a symptom of stress and a cause of stress.

We can not always remove the stressor, but we can choose how we deal with it.
Have a self awareness of yourself and how you are mentally, physically. Identify what the stressor is and make your best plan for dealing with it.
Having a direction and making your best plan for it may help prevent becoming overwhelmed by it.
Lastly, deal with one thing at a time.

These ideas are all easier said than done, however I believe that being aware of how stress affects us, helps it from becoming chronic.
Breath, relax your body and make a plan.
These ideas are based on my 24 years of listening to patients tell me what is going on in their lives

The Gift of Presence: Supporting Your Nervous System Through Holiday Gatherings
Family gatherings, festive parties, and social celebrations define the holiday season – but they can also trigger unique stresses on both our mental state and physical body. As your partner in health, we wanted to explain how nervous system health plays a vital role in helping you stay present, energized, and genuinely joyful during your holiday connections.

The Stress-Body Connection
When we anticipate holiday gatherings – whether excitement or anxiety – our nervous system responds long before we arrive. This response affects muscle tension, digestion, energy levels, and even our ability to engage authentically with loved ones. Understanding this connection empowers you to support your body through the season’s social demands.

Pre-Gathering Preparation: Set Your System Up for Success
The hours before a gathering matter more than we realize. Consider these nervous system-supporting practices:

Pre-event: Schedule a chiropractic adjustment to optimize spinal alignment and nervous system communication. When your spine moves freely and your nerves communicate clearly, your body handles stress more effectively.
Two hours before your event: Practice deep breathing exercises. Box breathing (inhale 4 counts, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4) activates your parasympathetic nervous system, promoting a state of calm alertness.
Hydration timing: Maintain steady hydration throughout the day rather than consuming excessive liquids right before events. Proper hydration supports nerve signal transmission and helps your body regulate stress responses.
During the Celebration: Stay Grounded
Social events often mean prolonged sitting, standing in one position, or unusual postures during conversations and activities. These tips help protect your spine and nervous system:

Posture awareness: When seated at dinner tables, sit fully back in your chair with both feet flat on the floor. This position supports natural spinal curves and reduces nerve compression.
Movement breaks: Excuse yourself periodically to walk briefly – even a two-minute loop helps reset muscle tension and improve circulation.
Mindful alcohol consumption: Alcohol affects nervous system function and coordination. Alternate alcoholic beverages with water to maintain better body awareness and spinal stability.
Travel Wellness
Holiday travel adds another layer of physical stress. Whether driving long distances or flying to see family:

Schedule a pre-travel adjustment to prepare your body.
Use proper lumbar support during extended sitting.
Take movement breaks every 90 minutes.
Perform gentle stretches before and after travel.
Post-Celebration Recovery
After gathering-intense weekends, your body needs support to process the physical and emotional demands. A post-holiday adjustment can help release accumulated tension, restore alignment, and reset your nervous system for optimal function.

Embracing Connection Through Wellness
The holidays are about connection – with family, friends, and ourselves. When your nervous system functions optimally through proper spinal care, you’re better equipped to be fully present in these precious moments. That’s the greatest gift you can give yourself and your loved ones.

Contact our practice to schedule adjustments around your celebration schedule.

A recent review of Grace Chiropractic Center!
This is what makes our office different.

"I appreciate that Dr. Gross performed a thorough assessment to try to find out exactly what was happening with my body, and I appreciate that he didn’t just crack my back and send me home (think 1/2 chiropractic, 1/2 physiotherapy). I love that they’re a small operation that didn’t make me feel like I was another patient to get in and get out. Dr. Gross sent me home with stretches and exercises to help with my flexibility between appts that I can use for the rest of my life. Getting ahold of them for an appt or cancellation was easy to do with a variety of ways including email, text, or landline phone call. Pair that with outstanding professionalism and friendliness, and Grace Chiropractic is top tier; the best service and chiropractic visit I have had since I started this journey 8 years ago."
