Robin had an incredible day at the Lake City 6th through 12th grade No Place Like Home career fair.
One of the biggest jaw dropping moments all day was when students learned Dr. Sims’ youngest patient was just 2 days old and the oldest was 97. They were able to see how he had to" adjust" his way of treating each patient and that it's fun to treat all ages.
We talked about something even more important though. Who is the most important person in a chiropractic office?
The answer surprised them. Everyone. Because great care only happens when the whole team works together.
The biggest aha moment of the day was this
The most important doctor in your life is YOU. Dr. You.
You make the daily choices that shape your health through how you eat, move, and think. Every provider you see is a tool in your toolbox but you are the one in control every day.
We also had a hands on game showing how the nervous system flows through the spine and what happens when there is interference. When one part is not working, the whole system feels it just like a team. We connected this to how a chiropractic office runs. When each person does their role well, everything flows smoothly for patients. When there is a breakdown or miscommunication, it creates delays, stress, and extra work for everyone.
Thank you to all the students for the amazing questions and to Lake City Area Schools for the opportunity to share.
