We are sad to announce that our home visiting, parenting program Healing Roots will also pause for now as we wait to see what happens with the 32p early childhood block grant. Please keep our home visitor and the families she serves in your thoughts and prayers as we wait.

To Our Beloved Families and Communities,
This is a letter I (Lacy, the Director) had hoped I wouldn’t need to write. I waited until the very last moment to share this news in hopes that things would change — but as of October 1st, all GSC (Great Start Collaborative) events and staffing in Wexford, Missaukee, and Manistee counties will be on temporary freeze until further notice.
We are currently awaiting final budget details and remain hopeful that we will be back up and running soon to continue serving families with the meaningful events and support you’ve come to rely on.
In the meantime, we encourage you to check out your local libraries for early literacy events and activities — they’re a great resource for families and young learners.
Thank you for your continued support, understanding, and commitment to early childhood development in our communities. We can’t wait to be back with you all soon.

It has been brought to our attention that an unauthorized post regarding the Charlie Kirk memorial service was put on the HPW Facebook site. We believe we could have been hacked. We have immediately removed it and apologize if it has upset anyone. We take a neutral position and our mission has always been to help anyone who has experienced sexual abuse or trauma regardless of their political views or religious beliefs. We are proud of our early childhood home visiting program Healing Roots
This year Healing Roots received a grant from the MiFamily Engagement Center to promote literacy in the home. It was a great success. Please watch the video to see more.
