Harrison County Health Department - Ohio This is the official page for the Harrison County Ohio's Health Department Our Vision: We aspire to be the leader in population health improvement.

The mission of the Harrison County General Health District Board of Health is to promote and protect the health of individuals and communities. Through the use of innovative, proactive, and collaborative approaches we will ensure conditions in which all people can be healthy. Harrison County Health Department (HCHD) maintains social media accounts to provide public information and health education. While social media provides a valuable method of quickly providing information directly to the public, it is a unique forum that requires special attention and guidelines. HCHD is committed to maintaining a respectful environment that shares correct information. To do this, a team of staff members reviews comments and posts on pages affiliated with the Health Department or its divisions. September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, and the Harrison Wellness Coalition is excited to offer a free QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Gatekeeper Training to our community.

QPR a su***de prevention technique that is often described as being similar to CPR, but instead of responding to a heart emergency, QPR provides the tools to respond to a mental health emergency.

Just as CPR empowers everyday people to save lives in a physical emergency, QPR empowers us to save lives in a mental health emergency.

We invite you to attend this free training and encourage you to invite your friends and family to join you. The more people who learn QPR, the stronger our community’s safety net becomes.

📅 Date & Time: TODAY - Thursday, September 18 from 6-7 p.m.
📍 Location: Tri-County Help Center, located at 109 West Warren St. Cadiz, OH
🔗 Registration: No registration is required, but you can RSVP to 304-919-2946

Together, we can make a difference and help prevent su***de.

Thank you for being a vital part of this effort.
