Greene County Mental Health Center Greene County Mental Health Center is a NYS Office of Mental Health licensed community mental health

Mission Statement
Greene County Mental Health exists to provide high-quality, culturally competent, comprehensive mental health services to all resident of Greene County regardless of their ability to pay. Greene County Mental Health is committed to creating a culture of diversity and inclusiveness for both its clientele and staff that recognizes and respects the human dignity of every person, regardless of their race, ethnicity, culture, religion, sexual orientation, gender, and gender identity and expression. Greene County Mental Health’s service delivery follows the “best practice” model for the provision of services for individuals and families struggling with mental health issues and substance abuse. Statement on Diversity
There is clear evidence to support the fact that experiences of discrimination lead to many stress-related emotional, physiologic, and behavioral changes. Such stress evokes emotional responses such as distress, sadness, and anger, to name a few. These reactions, as well as the behaviors that they can lead to, can ultimately harm one’s health. Because of this, Greene County Mental Health sees it as our responsibility to address these issues when they impact our clients or our staff. Therefore, as a mental health clinic, Greene County Mental Health is committed to creating an environment that fosters personal and professional growth for its staff and clientele. In doing so, we recognize that the promotion of diversity can highlight differences in values and perspectives and that exploring these differences is crucial to create such an environment. Therefore, as we strive to educate ourselves and others about mental health issues of a multicultural society, we recognize that an examination of personal privileges and implicit biases and their impact on our professional work is best accomplished within a climate of safety and respect. Therefore, staff members and trainees are expected to support each other in exploring their individual privileges and biases, and in cultivating positive attitudinal and behavioral changes in one another. This Statement of Diversity serves as a living document that guides us and reflects both our enduring and evolving mission and our values on diversity and inclusion.
