During the 2025 Leadership Seminar in Anaheim, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® proudly welcomed four groundbreaking Honorary Members into our illustrious Sisterhood, each a FIRST in her profession:

🩷 Laura Coates – CNN’s Chief Legal Analyst and Anchor, the first African American woman to hold this role.

💚 Karine Jean-Pierre – The first Black person and longest serving woman to serve as White House Press Secretary.

🩷 Beverly Johnson – Supermodel, NYT best-selling author, actress, and entrepreneur, and the first Black woman on the cover of Vogue magazine.

💚 Gabby Thomas – Olympic medalist and first Ivy League graduate to win an Olympic track & field medal.

These trailblazers were honored for their excellence in leadership, groundbreaking achievements, and transformative service that uplift communities around the world.

Alpha Kappa Alpha’s Honorary Membership is the highest recognition bestowed upon individuals who embody our core values: scholarship, service, and sisterhood.
