The birth of our son came in the middle of the night slowly after a day full of contractions. It happened during a rainstorm in our bedroom with the windows open- the smell of fresh fallen raindrops breathing in and the glow of the moon light laying over the fog. Although this was my longest and hardest labor, it was so incredibly amazing. Our daughters, woke up in the middle of the night and attended the birth of their brother. They were the sweetest, attentive, caring little doulas. My Angel dog was the sweetest labor companion offering comfort and checking on me frequently not wanting to leave my side. My husband stayed by my side comforting me all night. He was my safe place and his love and strength got me through and kept me going. I’m so thankful for you Adam. Thank you for being such an attentive partner. Adam caught and delivered our Austin, bringing him into the world. My mother took care of me in moments I felt I couldn’t go on and her comfort and strength banished any and all fears.
To my midwife Shelia thank you for your strength, knowledge, comfort, skillful hand and compassion.
To assisting midwife Meaghan thank you for your greatness, your big heart, your boldness, and your teaching hand with my girls. I had the perfect birth team. I also had a very special addition to my birth team. Cameron thank you for attending my birth. Your presence was so calming. You gave me one of the greatest gifts by taking these photos. During labor, things get blurry at times and you capturing all of these moments for me to be able to see- I’m speechless. I cherish them. Thank you for being there and thank you for your friendship.
I will post more of our birth story, but for now we are on cloud 9 loving our Austin Rebel Alt and settling in ❤️ All photos 📸
