Today, on the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, we honor the bravery and sacrifice of the Greatest Generation. More than 16 million Americans answered the call to serve—including Dr. Randolph Scheen, now 100 years old, a proud U.S. Navy Seabee and resident of Belmont Village Senior Living St. Matthews.

As a young man, Dr. Scheen landed on the beaches of Iwo Jima in 1945, showing courage during one of the war’s most pivotal and harrowing battles. His service, and that of all who served, continues to inspire us today. 🙏❤️

Our Belmont Blooms campaign really focuses on deepened connections and raised awareness of older adults’ roles in giving back and shaping their local communities. We are grateful to our incredible staff and residents who continue to make a difference each year. 🌟🏆💕

From reading scripture together to staying fit, they share a deep bond, and one of their favorite traditions is color coordinating their outfits every day! Jan and Otto's love story reminds us that finding love and creating special moments are timeless. 🥂💖

Today, we honor Vincent L., one of our incredible Belmont Village Senior Living Fort Lauderdale residents, whose dedication shaped generations of future leaders. From 1969 to 1988, he served as Chairman of the U.S. Naval Academy Committee for Accreditation of Engineering Programs. His leadership established and maintained nationally accredited programs that continue to uphold excellence at the Academy.

Trees have been flown in and placed on the pool deck, sidewalks are being poured, topping slabs are nearly complete, and the AC systems are being installed. We're just months in to constructing Belmont Village Rancho Santa Fe and we are thrilled to have already earned distinguished recognition for its architectural design within the industry. At the Gold Nugget Awards, we received the award of merit in the “Best 55+ Housing Community - On-The Boards” award, and at the SAGE Awards, we were honored with the “Best 55+ Assisted Living - On-The-Boards" recognition. 🏆 We are incredibly grateful for these accolades, which reflect our ongoing commitment to delivering excellence in senior living. We were honored to welcome Wendy Van Norden, a retired science professor from the esteemed Harvard-Westlake School, a diverse and inclusive community dedicated to educational excellence, as a guest lecturer at Belmont Village Calabasas!

Wendy captivated our residents with a fascinating talk on “The Mystery of the Amber Room,” sharing the compelling history behind this priceless collection of amber panels, stolen by the N***s during World War II and still shrouded in mystery today.

We're thrilled to have Wendy join us and look forward to many more engaging presentations in the future! 📚

Belmont Blooms Gala Finale Award Ceremony was held a couple of weeks ago at our community, where seven Belmont Village communities were featured and showed their documentaries they created including their Belmont Village residents in a celebration of giving and community impact. The films highlighted Belmont Village teams and their residents working with non-profits with a focus on their efforts for wildfire recovery. We thank all of our residents for your service and selflessness, you are not just part of our story, you are the heartbeat. ❤️

On March 18, 19, and 20, our Memory Care and Programming Department came together in Los Angeles for our annual Leadership Symposium—an important moment in our ongoing journey of learning and growth. 🌟 Led by our corporate experts and joined by Belmont Village President, Mercedes Kerr, and the Senior Leadership team, the event brought valuable insights, connection and collaboration. 🤝🏆

Belmont Village communities, Belmont Village Senior Living Burbank, Belmont Village Senior Living Encino, Belmont Village Senior Living Hollywood Hills, Belmont Village Senior Living Rancho Palos Verdes, Belmont Village Senior Living Thousand Oaks, Belmont Village Senior Living Westwood, stepped up to make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer's. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️💜 Between our sponsorship and fundraising, we were able to raise almost $18K for the Alzheimer's Association.
