AFRICA… you exceeded every expectation!!🌍✨

Victoria Falls 🌊—🚁 over one of the natural wonders of the world—was the grand finale of my dream trip. Staying at Old Drift Lodge in five-star “glamping” tents (think glass walls, elevated above the ground, with a private plunge pool overlooking the Zambezi River 😍) felt like something out of a movie (except for the centipede in my room-there are more poisonous than scorpions)🦂🦂

We watched elephants swim, hippos and crocodiles glide through the water on our game drives on a boat on the Zambezi River. On other bush drives we saw buffalo, monkeys, and baboons up close in the wild. Plus I discovered a round termite nest in a tree that our guides had not seen before and did not know what it was until I asked my boyfriend-ChatGPT😁…Truly unreal.

…but I already know I’ll be back.

Oh—and let’s talk about that final adventure 😅
A speedboat ride under Victoria Falls = completely drenched 💦
… 365 steps down AND a hen…365 steps back up (yes… 36 flights 😳)

By the end, my legs were literal spaghetti noodles 🍝
Barely made it through the airport—but totally worth it.

Best trip of my life. ❤️

🦏 Front row seats to the wild… where nature writes the rules.

We flew into Victoria Falls and stayed at the beautiful Old Drift Lodge, where we had the most incredible glamping experience🏕️We did eight game drives, including two on the Zambezi River, and got to watch hippos, crocodiles, and even elephants swimming across the water. Seeing these animals in their natural habitat was absolutely unforgettable.

My personal favorite was the rhinoceros. Because poaching has become such a serious problem, conservationists will often dart the rhinos, safely remove their horns, and let them wake up and go free. Since poachers are after the horn, this helps save the animal’s life. The black rhino is especially at risk and is sadly close to extinction. To protect them, Africa has a law that poachers can be killed on site🫤

This part of the trip was such a powerful reminder of how beautiful, wild, and fragile these animals and their environment really are. There are a lot of national reserves and private reserves to protect this amazing part of our continent. I feel so grateful we got to witness it all up close. 🌍🐘🦛🐊🦏

Hiking to the Southernmost tip of Africa🌍 at Cape Agulhas — where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet.
Along the way we spotted wild ostriches roaming the coastline, hiked up to the lighthouse for incredible views, and ended the day on a sunset sailing cruise… watching the sunset on one side of the ocean while a glowing blood moon rose on the other. 🌅🌕
One of those magical travel days you’ll never forget. ✨. And we started the day with an amazing cooking class- see photos of all the food we made.😁
