After working more than 15 years in the entertainment industry and 10 years in marketing, communications, and event planning, Donna wanted more balance in her life. As a mother of two children, she needed a career that offered her time flexibility while

wanting to make an impact on her community. Her love of healing arts, yoga and spirituality inspired her to study the fundamentals of Reiki. She began her career in Reiki as an energy healer in 2013. Donna's intuitive sense helps people increase vitality. Her methods aid in relaxation and she has helped clients recover from injuries, deal with illnesses and emotional trauma, and helps them achieve mind, body, heart and soul balance. As she observed the masters, her fascination with the transformation of clients' minds and bodies during their treatments encouraged her to study further. She began training with renowned Reiki Master Alberto Amura, who uses intuitive energy healing and the Reiki method from the Usui System of Natural Healing in his own practice and instruction. About Reiki - Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing. Energy flows within the physical body through pathways called chakras, also known as aligned meridians. By combining intuitive energy healing skills and Reiki, practitioners can aid in physical and mental rejuvenation, reprogramming of cellular memory and recharge and align the chakras. Donna has taken Amur's coursework and implements her own methods for deep relaxation, stress reduction, and she can help detect energy blockages. Reiki heals by flowing energy through the affected parts of the energy fields and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy fields in and around the physical body so negative energy can break apart and fall away. Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

HOW LONG TO MEDITATE:

There are many benefits of regular meditation from less stress to lower anxiety to better sleep. But how to meditate and for how long isn't always clear.

May 21 is World Meditation Day. Vishen Lakhiani, CEO of Mindvalley and a meditation expert with 20 years of experience, about how long people should meditate to get the most benefit from the practice.

"People think that the length of your meditation is what determines the quality of your meditation.

A longer meditation doesn't always mean greater benefits, and meditating for too long can sometimes decrease the quality of your meditation.

Often, people assume an hour is what they should aim for, for better quality meditations.

'Take a one- to three-minute dip into peacefulness'
"Life is bigger than that."
"For most people, 15 to 20 minutes will give you just the changes that you need,"

"You can take a one- to three-minute dip into peacefulness, and you can see remarkable results. The biggest benefits are going to happen in the first few minutes."

"Don't think that you need an hour in meditation. It is suggested using the extra 40 minutes that you would have been meditating to do these activities:

Read a book
Do a high-intensity exercise Spend time with loved ones
Practice 'active meditation' Most people are too busy to devote an hour to meditation,.

"Active meditation is about turning problems into projects,

"If you're feeling a bit of anxiety or worry about a deliverable you need to do by the end of the week, and you are stuck, you might visualize yourself finishing the project, see yourself getting praise from the boss [and] see yourself so proud of your work."

This tactic is a form of active meditation that's also known as creative visualization, and it's something you can practice multiple times a day for less than five minutes.

Other forms of active meditation can include practicing compassion towards others and thinking about the things you are grateful for.

Shorter meditations allow you to meditate several times in the same day Meditate for "no more than 20 minutes, and you can stack these modalities."
